"Don't worry mom it's school. I'll be fine." I say trying to stop my mother from embarrassing me completely. It's my second year of boarding school and quite honestly I loved it a lot last year, you know being away from all parents and being basically free. I mean, there are some points where I miss my mom but my cousins are here and I still get to celebrate holidays with my mom back home in Kansas. Besides, living in Michigan for over half a year is so cool.

"Ok honey, just don't forget to take allergy medicine in the morning and to call every once in a while. if you want to go home I will be here to pick you up as soon as possible" my mom assured.

"I'm fine mom. All my friends are here, my cousins and Paris. Speaking of Paris, we both have sophomore orientation in an hour and I promised to help with freshman orientation after" I say trying to get rid of my overly attached mom.

"Ok lucy, I will get out of your hair" She finally says.

Once everyone except me and my roommate/bff, Paris, leave the dorm room we scream in excitement.

"I'm so happy we get to be roomies again this year" Paris squeals

"I know!! Let's go find Tanner, I heard he is rooming with Dylan this year." I suggest.

"Yeah and they are on the level above us!" Paris says not able to contain her excitement.

When run to the elevator where we run into a couple lost freshman. We quickly help them out and return on our journey to Tanner's dorm.

"Hopefully he his parents have left already. I'm not in the mood to talk about my summer" i sigh

"It was that bad? I'm sorry luc" Paris replies but something seems like she doesn't care too much.

We reach the room number that Tanner texted to Paris.

Room 417.

I haven't seen any friends since the end of freshman year except Paris. Paris and I are neighbors. I could have seen tanner and taylor since they live in Kansas too, only about 10 minutes away. But I was very occupied with substantial amount of summer camps my mom sent me too. She always acts like she will miss me but never quick enough to send me away. In the two months that I was away, Paris and the Braungardts spent a lot of time hanging out at iHop and the new house. Taylor, Paris and I were super close last year, even though she wasn't old enough to board yet. I ended up spending spring break and most other breaks from school at the Braungardt's house.

It seemed Paris was more excited to see Tanner who will be in his second year as well then to see Taylor who is starting her first year here. Since she is a freshman this year she has to live in the building across the street. Freshman live in building A, Sophomores and Juniors live in building B and senior live in building C which is about 5 minutes away. I guess it gives them a sense of freedom from the younger students. The only thing consistent throughout each building is that every layer is for a different gender. First floor girl, second, boy and so on.
