Max was young when he had his daughter Artemis. He was seventeen. He really never spent time with his daughter. Artemis was always with her grandparents. They raised her. All the little girl wanted was for her daddy to come home early and not drunk. But that never happened. He was always drunk. Always out late. Did he even care for her? Years went by and Artemis didn't care if her father came home drunk or what time he came home. Max didn't even know much about his daughter. She was a good student and a good person. Graduation time came around and Max didn't even attend his own daughters graduation. Artemis was fine with it, because her grandparents were there. She sees her grandparents as her parents. She went to college out of state. After she left Max found out he has a disease called cirrhosis from drinking. He didn't care and about it and kept drinking. The cirrhosis then developed into liver cancer. He realized how little time he has and wanted to spend the rest of his time with his daughter. He tried to remember her when she was smaller but he couldn't remember much. He realized he wasn't there when she first started school, got her first boyfriend, had her heartbroken, see her graduate, or see her off to college. He realized he was never there for her and he wanted her to be there for him. He knew it was fair, so he didn't tell her anything. Artemis ended up finding out and stayed by her fathers side till the end.
