Currently, a man is sitting on a couch. The room he is in, is painted in an expensive looking red and gold. The man, whose eyes were closed up until now, opens his eyes slowly. Then, he looks around. Paintings decorate the walls. Furthermore, the room has only one door which the man is coincidentally facing. After some minutes of looking around the room, the man stands up. After that, he yet again looks around. Once he sees the mirror hanging on the wall he slowly walks towards it. After glancing at it for some seconds he walks around the room. His green gray eyes wander around the room with pure curiosity.
"...Where...am I...?", the man mutters almost silently under his breath, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He ruffles through his black hair. After yet another minutes he goes towards the door. Hesitantly, he grabs the door handle. He pauses, taking another look at the door before opening it with a slight push. Inside the new door it doesn't look that different. The same color scheme is used, making the room look as expensive and luxurious or even more than the room before. The room is bathed in a warm light, not too much nor too less. It feels calming. Expensive looking couches are on either side of the room. The man slowly walks into the new room which is yet to discover. A piano stands on the left side, seemingly craving to be played. Curious, the man continues walking, taking a look around the room while doing so.
"...Is no one...here?", the man mutters yet again under his breath while glancing at the room. It gives you the feeling of a bar or even a casino. To that, while looking around the man sees suddenly a bar. Many drinks, probably alcoholic, are being presented. The man walks towards it. Behind the counter is a young male standing, probably either six or seventeen. He wears a bartender outfit even though he seems too young for such a job. Calm, the young boy cleans the glasses in an elegant order. The young boy with his blond brown hair glances up, finally noticing the man who has stepped into this room. His ice blue eyes pierce through him. The boys face which looks cold and distant doesn't change. It looks off caring but somehow it still makes you feel calm and safe. Once the boy sees the man he puts the glass he was cleaning down. Then, he bows making the man look at him in confusion and surprise though also a bit of curiosity.
"Welcome. It appears you have awaken. Please. Take a seat", the boy offers and stands up straight again. The boy's voice sounded emotionless and monotonous but it still was warm. Hesitantly, the man sits down in front of the counter. "A drink?", the boy offers while tilting his head. "Aren't you a bit too young?", the man asks surprised. What is with this bar, if this is even a bar, that it allows not full aged children to serve people with alcohol? "Yes. You are correct. I am yet only seventeen. Still, there is no need to worry. So. Do you wish for a drink?", the boy asks again, not really answering the question the man asked. Sighing, the man asks for a simple glass of water. After only some seconds the cool glass of water is already standing on the counter. The man grasps it but doesn't take a sip. He stares at the glass of water in his hands for a few seconds before he looks at the boy in front of him who has now started to clean glasses again.
"So...where am I?", the man asks nervous. He honestly could not remember how he got here or where he even is. "Oh yes. Pardon my lateness. You are in Deathlife", the boy answers the question without sparing a glance towards the man. He answered the question clear and without questions, making it sound like he got this question a lot and is already used to answer it. "And...your name?", the man wants to know. He has never heard of a place called Deathlife, making him wonder just where exactly he is now. This seems to surprise the boy slightly, considering that he stopped his progress for some seconds. "Ace", the boy explains shortly before continuing his work. The man nods and takes a sip out of his glass. Ace glances at the man after some time before staring again on the glass he is clearing. "What...did you do before you...arrived here? If I may ask?", Ace asks the man without looking at him.
He finished his work and glances to his right, blinking. It appears he was so focused in his work that he didn't realize the gentle jazz music playing. "No. It's alright. I think...yes. I was going home. I had a meeting", the man answers while trying to take another sip, just to realise that he has finished his drink. "Another glass of the water?", Ace wants to know. The man shakes his head and sighs with a chuckle. "I'll take a cocktail. But please a non-alcoholic one. I don't drink", the man orders with a smile while looking around again. "As you wish", Ace says and gives the man a short bow. "This is a nice place", the man states while Ace does his work. "Thank you very much. I shall tell this my boss. I am sure it will make her happy. She was the one who decorated the room to make it look like this", Ace explains while putting the drink into the glass. The man chuckles.
"You must really like your boss considering the way you talk about her", the man states. Ace flinches slightly but then takes the cocktail and brings it to the one who ordered it. "I do not understand, I suppose", Ace says while giving the man his drink. "Oh really?", the man takes his drink,"It is easy. You talk way more when you talk about her". Ace stares at the man, taken back. He clearly didn't expected to hear such a thing. "I...see", is the only thing Ace can say. "So...do you maybe now where I could get a taxi?", the man wants to know after some minutes. The piece of jazz music slowly turns quieter. "That, my Sir, won't be possible", Ace answers, his serious face and voice back. The man is now the one who looks stunned. "And why if I may ask?", the man asks surprised.
"Because you my Sir..."
The piece of jazz music ends. Ace stares at the stunned man with a serious expression.
"Are already dead."

So yeah. That's the first chapter. My English grammar might be bad because I am not a native English speaker. What do you think so far? How are the characters? Interesting? Boring? Does the chapter bore you? It will get better because not all characters are yet introduced. Like Queen. Comment or/and vote if you are curious about this story and it outcome.
