"Look me in the eye" she whispered. "Tell me that I'm truly beautiful because I don't believe you can"

I carefully brushed her hair behind her ear and leaned in to kiss her. I stopped right as our lips touched.

"You will never know how beautiful you truly are to me" I whispered.

"Oliver! Wake Up!" My mom called.

I tried to open my eyes but they were so heavy from lack of sleep.

"Ten more minutes mom" I muttered back.

"You're already late! You need to get to school young man!" she answered.

I sighed and pushed my blankets from my body. I walked over to my black skinny jeans that were laying on the floor and put them on. I grabbed a dark green sweater and pulled it over my head. Walking into the bathroom, I pulled up my sleeves to brush my teeth. For a moment, I just stood and stared at my arms. Covered in scars; old and fresh. The mirror caught my eye and I cringed in spite of myself. My black hair was a crazy mess, the bags under my eyes were bulging, and I couldn't have been any more pale.

I brushed my teeth and decided to put my snake bite lip piercings in. When I was done, I decided to weigh myself. I carefully stepped onto the scale and felt my stomach turn as I read the number. 104 pounds.

"Fat ass" I whispered to myself.

I grabbed my keys and slipped on my black Vans. I gave my mom a hug and ran out to my car.

When I got to school, I ran to my locker and quickly got my stuff. I rushed to my classroom and sat down in the back of the room. Nobody seemed to notice me, as always. I took out my textbook and zoned out for the rest of the class.

I had three more classes before lunch and I'll admit, I was starving.

When I finally got to the class before lunch, I noticed an unfamiliar face. It was a girl. Without knowing it, I stopped in my tracks and was staring right at her. She was gorgeous. She had platinum blonde hair and pale blue eyes. She wore a loose gray tshirt under a leather jacket, black skinny jeans, and black combat boots.

I snapped out of my trance as my books were knocked out of my hands. I looked up and saw my teacher. He kept walking like nothing happened so I picked up my books and looked around the classroom for a seat. Of course the only open one would be right next to this new girl. I sat down and she didn't even look at me. For the whole class period I was trying to work up the courage to ask her what her name was.

I was about to say something when the bell rang. We all filed out of the room, the girl and I being last out.

"Hey" I choked as we exited.

She didn't turn around or make any acknowledgement that she heard me.

"What's your name?" I asked, a bit louder.

She began walking faster and soon she disappeared into the lunchroom. I walked in after her and got in the salad line. After I got my food, I sat down at an empty table.

As I began eating my salad, I saw the new girl asking some others girls if she could sit with them. I heard them all laugh and the new girl walked away. She looked around the lunchroom but the only available table was the one I was sitting at.

She came over and sat her food down.

"Isabelle" she whispered "my name's Isabelle"

My heart started pounding. "I'm Oliver but you can call me Oli" I answered.

"Why don't you have any friends?" She asked.

"Because everybody likes to act like I don't exist" I answered.

"Nonentity" she muttered.

"What?" I asked.

"They treat you like a nonentity." she replied.

"Oh..Yeah" I answered.

We ate in silence for the rest of lunch and then went back to class. It turned out she was in my last two classes but we didn't talk at all.

I have never had feelings towards a girl. That's the first time in a long time that I've even talked to a girl.

After school, I got in my car and drove to a café. I stepped out of my car and immediately the wind bit at my face. I softly took in a breath of the fresh winter air and headed to the door.

I ordered a small coffee and sat down. I took out my phone and decided to check my Twitter. I had a notification that I had been mentioned in a post. I got excited and thought it might be from Belle. I clicked on the post and it was from one of the cheerleaders at my school. It was a picture of Belle and I at lunch and the caption read "Wow, the freak finally found a whore 😆"

Did people think we were dating?

I felt tears well up in my eyes. This is where the hero is supposed to stand up for me and save me from this crap. Why don't I get a hero? I kept refreshing the page but only the favorites and retweets were going up.

That's when someone sat down across from me. I looked up and saw Belle.

"Why are you crying?" she asked.

"It doesn't matter" I replied.

"Show me your phone" she demanded.

"No. I can't be seen with you. Please don't talk to me." I whispered.

She grabbed my phone and looked at the post. We sat in silence for a few minutes until she decided to speak.

"I'm a virgin" she stated "I'm not a whore."

"Of course you're not a whore. But now everyone thinks we're dating" I said.

"And that bothers you?" She asked.

"Well...it's not because of you or anything..." I stuttered, surprised.

"You haven't cared what people thought before, so why now?" she frowned.

"I guess you're right" I sighed.

She stared at me for a few minutes as I scrolled through the comments. They were not pretty.

"I don't think you're a freak" Belle said randomly

"Umm thanks" I replied.

I finished my coffee and decided I should get home.

"Hey I'm going to head home. Do you...do you need a ride or anything?" I asked nervously.

At first it looked as if she would say yes but then she quickly shook her head no.

"Okay. See you tomorrow then." I said awkwardly and left.
