You were walking down the streets of Seoul, wrapped in your trench coat with your scarf placed around your neck, covering your mouth and a small part of your nose. Your hands were enveloped by your warm, wool, gloves, while you walked calmly with your hands in your pockets. You decided to go into one of the cafes to grab a warm drink to warm yourself up.
You walked to one of the cafes, which gave off a cozy, rustic, feel. It was a bit small compared to the other cafes in the area, but you decided to go in since there weren't much people in it. You opened the wood, framed, glass, door and were greeted by the sound of the chimes hung by the door. You breathed in the nice coffee scent and walked over to the line to the counter.
You peeked over the person's head to get a glimpse of the menu. While the person in front of you was dictating her order, you debated in your mind what warm drink you should get. The lady in front finally finished and stepped aside. You stepped forward to dictate your order.
"Good afternoon miss, what may I get you?" The barista asked cheerfully. "Um, I'd like a hot green tea latte. To go, please." You replied. "Would you like it tall, grande, or venti?" She asked, smiling while tapping into her cashier. "Grande, please." You said. " Alright your order costs 14,700 yen, and we'll have your order in a few minutes miss..." The barista paused. "(y/n)" You replied. "Alright, miss (y/n)." Please take a seat on one of our tables while waiting for your order." She said and smiled.
I walk over to a table near the window and take a seat. I dig out my phone from my pocket and turned it on, only to see a message from my manager.
'(y/n) when are you planning to finish the book? We need to release this book before next month ends! If you release nothing your career will go down.'
You rubbed your nose bridge. You were under much stress lately. Just two years ago you released the first part of your novel. You weren't expecting great success, but in a few months the book took off. The past two years, your readers have demanded for the next part of the novel. Lately, you've been under pressure since you worry about 'what if your readers won't like it and their two years of waiting would be wasted'. But this made you work harder and sometimes you wouldn't get sleep trying to work on your book.
"Miss (y/n)" I heard the barista call. I turned my head to see my drink on the counter with my name written on it. I stood up and walked to the counter. While I was walking I heard the barista call out another name while bringing a bunch of drinks to the counter. "Sir Jihoon." The barista called and the man stood up from a nearby table. He was wearing a white baseball cap with the brim covering half of his face. He was short, but still a few centimeters taller than you, and wore a grey, over-sized, sweater.
There were four paper bags given to him that contained the drinks. You finally arrived at the counter and got your drink. You glanced at him at you side and saw that he was struggling. "Excuse me." You said, which caused him to look at you. "Would you like some help?" You asked politely. "No it's okay." He said, trying to grab all four bags of drinks. "You're holding a drink so it's fine." He continued. "You're holding several drinks." Your reply made him chuckle. "Come on, let me help you." You said. He looked at you and smiled. "You sure? Don't you have somewhere else to be right now?" He asked. "Well I just went out to walk around but I have a lot of time on my hands so I figured why not help this guys instead." You replied.
"Hey excuse me i'm not just 'some guy' I have a name too." He said, pouting a little. "Well, what's your name then?" You asked. "You really don't know me?" He asked. "Well I have no idea why I would but, no, I don't know you." You said. "I'm Lee Jihoon" He said smiling as he held out his hand for you to shake. "I'm Jung (y/n)." You said as you shook his hand. "Well why don't we split this? I can carry two then you carry two." He suggested. "Sure." You replied
You grabbed two bags and carried one on each bag. Jihoon did the same thing, and the both of you proceeded to walk to the exit of the cafe. Jihoon pushed the door with his back and waited for you to get out. He followed and stood beside you.
"So where are we off to?" You asked, looking at him. "To my dorm." He replied starting to walk. "Are you gonna drink all these by yourself?" You asked. Jihoon laughed and shook his head. "No I have roommates." He replied. "Wow, how many are you in one dorm?" You asked walking behind him. "Thirteen, including me." Your eyes widened. "How do thirteen people fit in one dorm?" You asked. Jihoon shrugged. " I don't know. We kinda just... do." He said.
He stopped walking and faced you. "Well this is my stop." He said, smiling at you. "Do you want me to help you carry this up?" You asked. "No thanks. I'll just text one of my roommates to come down and help me." He replied putting down one of the paper bags and reaching in his pocket for his phone.
'Dino-ah help me carry these drinks up to the dorm.'
You walk over to him and place the paper bags beside him. You walked back to where you were and saw Jihoon place his phone back in his pocket.
"Thanks for helping me bring these drinks." He said. "Oh, no problem." After you replied, a few seconds of awkward silence occurred. You looked down and fiddled with your fingers.

"We should hang out some time." He said, stopping the awkward silence that was in the air. You looked up and smiled. "Sure." You said, smiling. "Friday, two o'clock? Same cafe?" Jihoon asked with an eyebrow slightly raised. "Friday, two o'clock, same cafe. Sounds good to me." You replied cheerfully. Suddenly a boy from the dorm approached us.
"Hyung, you've got the drinks!" He exclaimed. He looked over to you and had a puzzled face. "Hyung, did a fan follow you here again?" He asked. You twitched at the word fan. "Oh n-no she's not a fan. She just helped me carry all these drinks here." Jihoon replied. Suddenly your phone buzzed. You grabbed it out of your coat's pocket and read the message.
'(y/n) you better send in the final copy before this month ends. We've got the cover designs, and the paper types. We just need you to hurry up with the final copy of the book.'
"I better get going now." You said, putting your phone back in your pocket. "Okay then (y/n). See you on Friday?" Jihoon asked. You chuckled a bit. "See you on Friday." You replied. You turned around to walk back to your apartment.
"I'm surprised hyung was able to talk to a girl." Dino said, picking up the paper bags next to Jihoon."Dino-ah that's mean." He replied "Sorry hyung. It's just that you've never had a girlfriend so I figure-" "Dino-ah I can talk to girls, okay." Jihoon said, interrupting. "Alright hyung." He said walking in."You know hyung... that girl you just met was very pretty. Are you planning to make her your girlfriend?" He asked while walking up the stairs. "Dino-ah she's just a friend." Jihoon argued. "Okay hyung." Dino smirked and walked into the dorm.
