Some nights after shutting down my lids; after a momentary dread of the probability that I might not wake to see the light of another day, there is happiness in waking up to see the breaking of the dawn. There is happiness when the tingling laughter of little voices fills the household with a merry air. There is happiness to live daily in love's enclosure of my loving one. There is happiness while I gaze with admiration at some blooming flowers in a garden - fresh and speckled with dewdrops, erect and resplendent with colors in the golden rays of the morning sun. There is happiness in the jovial greeting and confident smile of a friend as I meet him along the way. There is happiness on a Sunday morning as I listen to the music pour out melodiously from the church organ, its strains flowing gently like the murmuring waters of a cool brook - reverberating gracefully down the aisles.
