Harry had reached for the first demon in absolute certainty that he would crush it like the soulless monster it was.
That was before Chloe took out her bag of runes.
Holding one upward for dramatic effect, she cracked it, and the blue haired demon flew backwards.
"Nice, babe!" Harry smiled.
"Thanks, Puddin."
Lucas aimed his ring at the other demon with the lighter skin. It too, flew backwards, bursting into flame as it did so.
"Woah." Chloe started at the place where the demon had exploded. "That was hella awesome, Lucas!"
Lucas smiled. He loved showing off his powers.
The last demon, clearly the leader, was much harder to conquer. Harry's powers did almost nothing, and Lucas could not work his ring, to unknown magical reasons.
Soon, the demon cornered them, raising his hands, an evil glint in his pitch black eyes. However, something seemed off. Chloe could easily get out of this trap, but Harry and Lucas couldn't. Obviously this meant something, but what?
Out of the corner of her eye, Chloe noticed Micheal beckon her over. Chloe looked at him, and back at her friends. She couldn't just leave them. She raised another rune, mutters its name under her breath, leaving Lucas, Harry, and the demon frozen in place. She looked at Micheal, and walked over to him.

After Micheal explained his plan, Chloe was still unamused. The two were walking down the dark streets of Detroit.
"Do you know how many times we've saved the world? This is just another bump in the road." She scoffed.
"Ah, but have the nine realms ever been in jeopardy?" Micheal asked.
Chloe froze in place, but Micheal kept walking.
"That's what I thought. It's not just this world that's in peril, sweetie. It's all of them."
Chloe ran to catch up to him. "The Nine Realms are mine." She hissed.
"Not if Sophia has any kids with my brother." Micheal frowned and stopped walking. "So," he said as he extended out his hand. "Deal?"
Chloe, hesitant, took it and shook.
"Wonderful. Go, save your friends. I'll spare the Canadian for you."
Harry. "The others?"
Micheal shrugged. "We'll see where their loyalty lies."

I looked at Sophia, bloody and unconscious. I was dimly aware of Elijah holding me upright. I've seen Mary, screaming for mercy, bloody and hopeless. Elijah had died in my arms before. Harry's collapsed with no chance of living right in front of my eyes. But I have never seen Sophia so weak and helpless before. Not only that, I never thought I would. Sophia was the one person who I always assumed would just be there, without a problem. I couldn't last without her.
"We'll save her." Elijah whispered in my ear. "Stay strong."
I nodded and sat upright. I wasn't going to let a few gruesome images ruin me.
Elijah lifted his hat, about to speak into it, when a figure in the shadows caught my eye, somewhere behind a few old crates. I pointed, hand shaking slightly.
"What is that?" I asked.
Suddenly, a girl with long brown hair walked out. She wore a smug smile, an evil glint in her eye, the type of look you would never want her to look at you with. She looked at Sophia with that look on her face- the one of a predator cornering its prey, about to strike, about to win.
Chloe had betrayed us.
