Practice Makes Perfect

"You will never in a million years make to team for volleyball" said Kelley."Don't even try!"

I know I will, don't listen to Kelly! I thought. "If you say so" I told the bully as if to make her think I won't try out for the team.

"Good! Bye dork! Come on girls lets leave Amanda to go cry at home." Kelley said as she walked away down the school hallway. As she left she flipped her hair.

My BFF walks over to me because she over heard our conversation. "You will try out right?"

"Ya of course! Volleyball is my life. You know that!" I say.

"Ya, you do know you just lied to the POULAR girl, Amanda I didn't know you had the guts to do that!" Says Chloe(my BFF).

"YA!" my little munchkin friend said. Her name is Meggy. Meggy is soooooo short! "But you are tall, so you will make the team."

The next day is try out day so I went to my daily practice with my team. It was really good, but there is one problem with practice. Kelly is there. She ignored me the entire time (like always).

Finally, at the end of class, she talked to me. Oh, no! First, she trips me. "Ooops! I am so sorry."

"What is your problem with me, Kelly? Why can't I try out for the team?" I responded. Everyone stopped and stared at me in shock that I talked that way to Kelly. "Why can't someone stand up to Kelly? No one was, so I thought I could be a hero for everyone! Stand up for what you believe! You may not be popular, be you can think good about you self." I say back to them as they stare.

I quickly got changed to go home and texted all of my friends about what happened. They will be proud of me! Won't they?

When I got home I went to go eat dinner with my family. I told them what happened. They said I am a good girl to stand up for people.

I feel so good!

Finally, I can text my friends...

"Hi, Meggy, Chloe, Jessy, and Savannah! U guys won't believe what happened at volleyball practice. I just told Kelly this "Why can't someone stand up to Kelly? No one was, so I thought I could be a hero for everyone! Stand up for what you believe! You may not be popular, be you can think good about you self."

About 5 minutes later, I got a text!

"Wow, you really do have the guts to do anything!!!!"
