Chapter 1.
In my entire life I've only been to one school where I actually enjoyed the cafeteria food. That was when I was in elementary school. Now, I really despise the cafeteria food in high school, and have refused to eat it ever since my terrible experience with the school's idea of pizza, I shudder just thinking about it. Usually I spend my lunch period in the library, but today, I sat in one of the cafeteria booths, with headphones in my ear, scrolling through my play-list when a plate of food was placed across the table in front of me.
My nose automatically scrunched in disgust. Or at least I think it's food...
"What? It's meatloaf." I look up to see my 5'10, hour glass figure, blonde hair friend Mina smiling at me.
I switch my gaze from her face to her plate and shook my head in disgust.
"More like mystery meat. Meatloaf isn't supposed to be bouncing, corn isn't orange and green beans are GREEN not brown!"
Mina pushed my face away for her plate.
I didn't even realize I had gotten close to it.
"You are so extra. Could you please not ruin my appetite? I haven't eaten since yesterday's lunch."
"Why?"
"Jeremy..." She said, a Chester cat smile forming on her face.
Jeremy was Mina's on-again, off-again boyfriend of four years. They've been dating since we were freshman and every two-months they would break up over stupid things; Mina usually being the reason behind it.
Personally, if I was Jeremy, I wouldn't continued to put up with Mina's bull. Don't get me wrong, I love Mina and she is my best friend, but I was friends with before Jeremy before I met Mina, and theirs only so much crap a person take. Half of time, Mina treated their relationship like it was nothing, because she knows that he'll always come back to her no matter the circumstances. I don't know about anyone else, but I just don't find that fair.
"Ew. I don't even want to know what you two nymphomaniacs were doing together."
She laughed, "All I'm going to say is that it was a really, really, really hot night...and morning."
I felt my face turn. "Please stop. I prefer not to know about you and Jeremy's sexual interactions. Why are you hungry anyway? You didn't eat at Jeremy's?"
Mina's slowly smiled. "Oh sweetheart I ate. Trust me. Dick a la carte is one of my favorites."
I formed a fist over my to prevent my morning breakfast from coming back up.
"Ugh, hurry up and eat that thing you call food. The bell is going to ring in ten minutes-"
Mina cut my grumbling off by pressing her pointer finger against my lips, "Shush child. I'm eating." She turned her head to her tray and started to eat while I put my earphones in.
*****
Mina and I left the cafeteria early to go to my locker and I had already made it to my destination while Mina still trailed behind looking at her phone, moving her fingers across the screen.
"So since its Friday I was thinking we should do something fun," Mina said, not looking up from her phone.
"Like what?" I ask while switching out my school books for others in my locker.
"A double date," I was in the middle of putting my math book in my locker when I paused.
"Wait what?" I turn to face her and see a huge smile on her face.
