You leave as I watch you sit in front of me
Motionless starring at the swirls of the wooden table
Like the curves of your mind where parts of you go to places I can't find
and I don't know who you are anymore
Because I can't find you
And I can't remember what you are actually like
Because a notch in the wood dug too wide for my fingers to cross
We each hold half a table in our hands like the rest of our lives the wood split in opposite directions
And I watch as the gap grows larger still
and with you pieces of me are taken too.
