"Do you really have to do this?"

"Yes. And, Basty, it's not like I'm living in a far away place. Laguna lang 'yun." I faced him after finishing packing all of my remaining things on our soon-to-be former house.

"But that's still.. nevermind." Tumalikod siya at lumakad patungo sa pintuan palabas. Tss, nagtatampo. Mabilis ko siyang sinundan at niyakap sa likod. He smells so good. God, I will miss him every day.

"Juan Sebastian Hidalgo the Third, ikaw lang okay? Hindi ako maghahanap ng iba doon and knowing you, lagi mo akong pupuntahan doon." Inikot ko siya paharap sa akin at inilagay ang aking mga kamay sa magkabilang pisngi.

"Of course I will. Baka mamaya may pumorma sa'yo doon. Damn, I am going to crush the face of whoever tries to hit on you." I faked a frown that immediately turns into a wide smile. Why make me fall deeper, Basty? I am yours, only yours.

"Akin lang ito..." Placing his left index on my smiling lips. "Ako lang dito..." Then pointing to my heart. "At ito..." And lastly, pulling me into a tight hug wherein I felt his heart beating too fast. Mine's into a wild run too.

"I love you so much, Chino." And he leaned down to kiss me.

I thought everything's going to be perfect and fine for the two of us. I thought that long distance relationship would work for the two of us. I was so wrong. So wrong.

Most of the time, everything that you think would last for a lifetime suddenly breaks apart.... in a snap it would turn into memories of the past. Your heart and soul shattered into the most pieces possible, leaving you broken beyond redemption.

But sometimes, someone would strive hard to put back all of the pieces together. Even if it means enduring unfathomable amount of pain. To start anew. To promise that it would now last for a lifetime.
