"What a practice" I whisper to myself as I take a sip of my water.

I pick my bag off the floor and walk outside the gym.

Intro

My name is Shay, Shay Mckinley. I'm a 17 year old senior at Wilson High School. I get good/stable grades and I am known for my athletics. I played for the wrestling team for 2 years but I quit because I always hated how there were never any other girls to go against. I played for the girls varsity basketball team and our team has amazing records (since the 90's our high school has been known to have one of the top teams in the country!). My whole sophomore class elected me as president but I declined, like honestly who wants to do that?I guess you could call me popular. But I really never gave a shit about that, if people are nice to me, then I'll give them the same respect. I've had a few boyfriends and I know this may sound funny, but I've never kissed anyone. Laugh all you want but I'm serious I just haven't found the right guy for me. My style is usually a mix of comfy (shirt and skinny jeans) and if its a good day, I might consider wearing a skirt.

I look a my watch, it's already 6:00 pm.

I grab my skateboard and strap my basketball bag around me.

I push off and ride home.

... After 10 minutes...

As I ride home I stop by the corner store and buy a large can of sprite, hey I like to relax now and then.

As I walk out I see Maraya High School, our sore "rivals" across the street. I rest my board on the bench and take out my soda until I suddenly hear something.

"HOLD HER" a girl yelled near the high school. It was vague but I could still hear it. I quickly sprang up.

What hold me?

I look around in panic.

No one was there.

"PIN HER DOWN! DON'T LET HER GET AWAY!" the girl yelled.

I could hear that the yelling was coming from Maraya High School. This sounded bad. I quickly put my soda back in my bag, grabbed my board and skated there.

I could hear a girl talking, wait no, multiple girls. I looked around the parking lot, no luck. I suddenly heard grunts and yelling,

"GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME YOU PIECES OF SHIT!"

I quickly skated to wear the sounds were coming from. Behind the gym.

I threw my basketball bag down and left my board but kept my backpack handy. I quickly ran to the back.

I couldn't believe my eyes.

3 girls were huddled around one girl. 2 of the girls were holding a girl down and the other girl was punching her.

I quickly ran over.

"STOP!" I yelled as I pushed the 2 girls that were holding down the victim.

They gave me a shocked look. I got down and looked at the girl being beat up. She had orange hair and a beat up mouth, she looked torn.

This really pissed me off.

I got up and looked at them.

"Hey fuck off! You don't even go to this school" a large girl said.
