Emily's POV
...
As I entered the classroom, I smiled at my classmates, which earned me some stares and whispers.
Umm... Ok. Do I have something stuck on my teeth? Is the toilet paper hanging off my pants or stuck to my shoes?
I quickly looked behind me to check, but no.
It was really weird, why was everyone looking at me like that? I felt as if a horn just grew out of my forehead.
This was all very new to me...
Alaska waved to me from our usual place, which was next to a window.
"Hey Alaska!!" I said cheerfully.
"Hi!" She smiled back at me.
Alaska is a very pretty girl, she could've chosen to stay with the popular gang but instead she chose to be friends with me and my other friends.
I placed my bag next to her's and fished out my math notebook.
"So did you complete your math homework." I asked her.
She bit her lip and shook her head smiling.
I shook my head at her with a smile of my own.
I looked around the class and spotted Paige, she was sitting with Alina already copying the homework. I sighed.
Just then Natasha entered the class, she looked like she was sleep deprived.
"Hey Nat!" I waved my hand and called out to Natasha which earned me looks. Umm... Ok.
She didn't hear me but walked to our place like a zombie.
She had dark circles around her eyes, and her hair had a slight frizz.
"So... What happened to YOU?" Alaska asked Natasha.
"My cousins, that's what happened to me" she murmured
I laughed slightly and remembered about the problem at hand.
"So did you complete our homework?" I asked.
"Well, when have I not" she smirked.
She handed over her book to me and Alaska, we spent over 15 minutes to complete all the sums. I seriously consider that our math teacher should write a book called 'ways to torture students' that would become a best seller.
Our class teacher entered the class, we quickly hid our books.
Our class teacher was a really nice person and that is why we didn't want him to think that we were too lazy to even do our homework.
Paige scurried back to her place and took a seat next to Natasha.
Mr. Vincent started taking attendance.
When he called Natasha, she didn't answer, so everyone turned back to look at her.
My dear friend was fast asleep, drooling and snoring included.
Paige nudged her, she was unresponsive.
Then Paige shook her hard making Natasha fall down.
"I am awake mom! I am WIDE awake!" She shouted.
The whole class erupted into laughter.
I couldn't control my laughter as well, the look on her face was just so priceless.
I offered my hand to her, so that she can get up.
Mr. Vincent laughed at her but then asked "Natasha are you feeling ok? Would you like to go to the nurse's office for a check up?"
"Yes sir, I am fine. Only a little sleep deprived, that's all" she shook it off.
I frowned. It wasn't healthy for her to be attending school like this, so I spoke up " sir I think she needs to go down to the nurse's office or maybe even call her mother to pick her up".
She glared at me and said "no sir I am perfectly fine"
Mr. Vincent cut her off by saying " I think I will have to go with what Emily said, now I will need you to go to the nurse's office immediately with Emily" he finished off.
We both nodded our heads and got out of the classroom.
She sighed, "I'm going to hate you for that Em"
"You can thank me later, but now we need to go to the nurse's office so come on" I smirked while pulling her down the corridor with me.
The whole time Natasha walked like a drunk zombie, so I let her put an arm around me and dragged her along with me.
There was someone inside the nurse's office so we both had to sit outside and wait for a few minutes, Natasha dozed off.
The door opened to reveal Drew, she was my senior. Her eyes were red, probably from crying too much.
I frowned, what was going on? She was a really popular and an outgoing girl, what could've happened to make her cry?
"Come in" the nurse called, dragging me out of my question session.
I lifted the heavy Natasha along with me and entered the room.
The room consisted of only a stretcher, a small writing desk and a chair next to it. There was also a small box on the desk, I assumed that it was the first aid kit and the other medical supplies. This was my first time coming into the nurse's office.
I placed Natasha on the stretcher and sat next to her, she opened her eyes slowly before closing it again.
"So? What happened?" The nurse breathed out adjusting her glasses.
I adjusted mine too subconsciously and said " I think she stayed up all night and had no sleep at all".
" ok, then I will just call her parents to pick her up and write a letter to the class teacher" she said picking up a paper from her desk.
The door opened to reveal a certain brown haired boy, something in my stomach fluttered lightly.
"Oh sorry, I thought that this was the nurse's office" he said and was about to close the door.
"Yes, this is the nurse's office that you are in" Mrs. Valerie said stopping him.
I chuckled making his gaze fall on me, the smile slightly faded on my face but a smirk formed on his.
I quickly averted my eyes to the sleeping beauty next to me.
"So, do you have any painkillers that I can use? My friend needs it, he has a bad head ace." Adrian said.
Wow... His voice was so nice, it had the perfect amount of everything in it!
What the hell!! What was I turning into? One of those stupid love stuck girls squealing about some guys? I shut my eyes and reminded myself that I was a strong girl who was in need of no one. This was all unnecessary shit, I've seen almost all of my class mates go through this. The pain that love can give...
It wasn't even close to a crush but still I have to warn myself, boys are a distraction.
They divert you from everything but at the end they achieve their goal in life.
Even though I wasn't in a relationship, I've seen enough.
Ok just stop already, I said myself. All he ever did was barely smirk at you and now you are acting like he kissed you! Drama queen!...
