"Jacob you sure you aren't upset?" I questioned, feeling very guilty.
It was like I was playing with his emotions.
When he asked me what we are earlier today, I had said that I wasn't sure & that I just needed more time.
Now it wasn't because I didn't trust him or think he'll hurt me like my ex, but because I truly think I'll just drag him down. I mean he just sounds too good to be true for me?
"Aubrey I already told you, I get it, I respect that you need time & I won't rush you with this" he grinned, as he popped the trunk.
We were going on a little picnic date on this small hill & creek that he drove us too.
"Well okay" I grinned, feeling a bit more relieved. Maybe I actually do need a little more time.
He grabbed the picnic basket, as I grabbed the blanket. With our free hands, we connected them together & Jacob began leading the way.
We started walking up the small hill.
The crisp breeze gushed through my hair as we continued which felt quite soothing.Sooner or later we reach the top, revealing a gorgeous view.We walked over in the shade by a tree. I flap out the blanket & place it down over the plates of green grass.
"Just look at this view" I said, still amazed by how beautiful it was.
"Cool right? I've always loved this spot." He said as we sat down and began setting the food out.
"Very, how did you even find a place like this?" I asked.
"My parents, my Dad would take me and my mom here for picnics, and we would usually have a kite and do some family bonding" he responded.
Must've been nice. I wish my Mother and Father would have done things like that with me. I would always have to hear them bicker as a child.
"That's so sweet." I say.
"Yeah, good times" he replies.
"Anyways, what were some things you did with your family?" He asks, while taking a bite out of his sandwich.
Great.
"Well um....let's see?" I say trying to think of one simple time me & my parents actually bonded.
Oh!
"When I was about uhh... six I planned this whole little concert in the basement for my parents." I say beginning to smile as I remember about it.
"Oh really?" He said.
"Yeah, they hooked me up to a microphone and everything. I was obsessed with the song "Hot or Cold" by Katy Perry, at the time and I sung it. They even through confetti at the end, they loved it" I say.
"Sounded like it was a blast" he smiled.
"It was, I miss those days so much, my parents were so happy back then, wish I could say the same now" I mumble, looking down at the grass.
"Hey," he said, lifting my chin up, "No matter how bad thing gets, good will eventually be an outcome from it" as a tear slipped from my eye, he instantly wiped it.
I climb onto his lap, wrapping my legs around him and my arms around his neck, hugging him.
We stay like this for a few minutes.
After I pull away from the hug, still sitting on him, I place my two hands on his shoulders & look deeply into those bright hazel eyes of his.
Then my eyes, lower to his soft pink lips, and I lean in to meet mine with his. As he kisses back, the wind begins to pick up speed, making this scenery perfect. Just perfect.
We slowly pull away and I lay on his chest.
"When I'm with you, anything is possible for me" I whisper.
"I have meaning"
"And you mean everything to me" he says softly, keeping me close as the sunset appears.🌅
