One word describes my life...
Noise.
Noise surrounds me.
Noise overwhelms my thoughts.
Noise keeps me awake at night.
I walk the halls of school hearing about last Friday's party, which I was unsurprisingly not invited to, but made people's thoughts more active than usual. I hear about the alcohol, the drugs, and the hookups. It consumes my mind for the entirety of the school day.
Samantha asks me why I'm so distant but she doesn't understand the uproar happening in my brain. Teachers criticize my lack of attention and note taking in class but they can't hear what I can. They don't have to drown out millions of tiny voices all constantly screaming their opinions at you.
I only find peace on my walk home, when I am finally alone— just me and my headphones blocking out the world.
