Wolf Fur let out a breath, he wiggled his rump and pounced on a mouse. "I got it!" He cheered.
"Great work! Soon you'll be pouncing better than I can!" Meowed Little Ear who was helping him. His sister Viper Strike ran around. She saw a mouse and chased after it. "I got it!" She yowled, her green eyes glittering. "Ah my kits you're so grown. Soon you'll be having kits of your own." Weasel Spot purred. "Ew! Dad!" Viper Strike meowed wrinkling her nose. Suddenly two cats padded into the camp. Viper Strike bristled. "Intruders! Let me at em!" She ran for them, but Wolf Fur tumbled into her. "No way!" The two began fighting.
"Kits will be kits won't they?" Misty Tail purred. Light Mist's pale gray tail twitched. "If you like loud squealing.." she muttered.
"State your business." Stone Storm meowed to the two cats.
"My name is Speckle. And this is my friend Gorse." Meowed a mottled she-cat flicking her tail to her companion, a tabby she-cat. "What brings you to our group?" Stone Storm asked calmly. Fish Scar slinked to his side. "These are strangers. We're in a new place.." he meowed carefully.
"What do you think we are? Stoats?" Gorse asked teasingly. Fish Scar tipped his head to one side. "What's a stoat?" He asked. The two she-cats exchanged a glance with each other. "Never seen you bunch before." Speckle mewed eyeing each of the cats.
"We journeyed far away. As far as the stars have led." Pigeon Tail joined in.
"Interesting. You all seem nice. We've heard rumors of new cats walking into the forest." Speckle mewed.
"Well tell the cats you talked to that the rumors are true." Silver Leaf meowed.
"Why don't we show these lovely she-cats around the camp?" Dapple Spots meowed. Eagle's Speck rolled her eyes and purred in amusement.
"Smitten with one of the cats already I see?" Misty Tail purred amusement.
"Hm." Light Mist mewed.
"What are your names?" Gorse asked them. Stone Storm flicked his tail. "I am Stone Storm. The leader of the group. This is Fish Scar, Weasel Spot, Gray Sky, Leaping Breeze, Misty Tail, Light Mist,"
"I'm Wolf Fur! I'm going to be the best hunter!" The black and white pawed tom declared.
"No I am!" Viper Strike yowled and the two kits started play fighting again.
"We need to think about this Gorse." Speckle mewed to her companion.
"What's there to think about? These cats have a safe place." The tabby she-cat meowed.
"More like unsafe. A fox nearly attacked us last night." Light Mist meowed.
"Why are we all huddling and meowing like lost kits? It was only a fox." Weasel Spot pointed out.
"Give me and my friend some time to think." Speckle meowed quickly.
"Very well. Come to us when you have your answer." Stone Storm meowed. The two she-cats exited. Dapple Spots stared at them in dismay.

"We both caught it. I chased it, and it doubled back - right into Running Fern's claws. It was great!" Dove's Pelt purred telling about the hunt of today.
"You two have been spending a lot of time together lately." Deer Snout teased slyly. The gray she-cat flattened her black ears. "What are you talking about?" She asked the pointed she-cat.
"When are you two becoming mates?" Grass Shadow meowed sitting over to join them. The gray she-cat looked surprised at the both of them. "We're just friends!" She meowed.
"There's no need to hide it. We all see how Running Fern looks at you." The black she-cat purred.
"You two are tick-brained.." Dove's Pelt rumbled.
"Hey, I'm just saying you're lucky. I wish I had a cat following me around and hunting with me like he does with you." Deer Snout meowed, peering past her. "Speaking of a cat.."
"Hi Dove's Pelt." The white and gray tom purred with a silver thing in his jaws and his fur sleeked to his sides.
"What is that?" Eagle's Speck asked suddenly coming over.
"You young cats. It's a fish." Bright Wind meowed.
"I caught it for you Dove's Pelt--if you want it!" He blurted out.
"Can I learn how to hunt fish?" Wolf Fur mewled. Viper Strike drew over to sniff the thing in the tom's jaws. "It smells stinky!" She recoiled.
"Viper Strike! Be respectful!" Misty Tail meowed.
"You're all wet." Light Mist commented. In answer, the tom shook his pelt, water flying. "Don't get me wet you elk-brain!" She flung herself back.
"There's a lake outside not too far from here. That's where I got this fish." Running Fern meowed.
"Outstanding!" Stone Storm purred. Pigeon Talon drew over to them. "Everything's fine." She mewed.
"As it should be.." Fish Scar put in. Maybe things would be well in their new home afterall.
