My First Love

ch 5

Amanda POV

It's Friday, my past days were smooth without any problem, Clair and me got closer with Ely.

Today my parents are coming to spend the weekend with me. And I'm so happy to spend time with them since I don't get to see them everyday. My day ended quickly. After my last class I hurried towards Clair's car and hop in.

"Someone is happy" Clair said grinning and eyeing me.

"Of course, my parents are coming, don't tell me you forgot it" I state glaring at her. She just shook her head and started the engine. After a short drive we reached my home.

I drag Clair inside telling her how slow she is. As we enter I saw my Mom and Dad sitting on the sofa and Mr's Jones serving them tea.

"Mom Dad" I yelled and jump into my dad's arm

"How are you my baby girl" my dad ask still hugging me.

"I'm fine Dad, I missed you" I said with a pout.

"There is not even a single day that I don't miss you baby girl" my dad said with a smile. I went to my mom and hug her.

"Hi Mom, I missed you" I whisper in her ear.

"I missed you too, honey" she said to me with a smile.

"Hey, Clair how are you?" my dad ask to Clair hugging her.

"I'm fine Raf" she replied smiling. My dad allow Clair, mom, me to call him Raf, short for Rafael.

"Hi, mom" Clair said to my mom hugging her. My Mom always insist Clair to call her Mom.

"Hi, sweetheart it's good to see you. How is parents" my mom ask to Clair hugging her back.

"They are fine. Thanks for asking" Clair replied to mom. We sat and chatted for hours.

"Guys, I think I better get going" Clair state looking at her watch.

"Sweetheart, why don't you and your parents have dinner with us tomorrow" mom asked Clair.

"Sure, I'll tell them" Clair replied and my mom jump up and down squealing. Saying bye Clair left.

Now it's just my parents and me. They ask me about my school life, I replied 'usual and boring'. But my mom was looking at me with a grin before she could ask me about my love life I change the subject.

"Mom, Dad let's watch movie like Old times" I asked them and they agreed. After an hour of watching the movie finally ended. When I look at them they were asleep, mom's head was on dad's shoulder and dad head was leaning on her head. They look lovely, I wish I could meet someone who will love me more than anything in this world like my my mom and dad.

"Mom, Dad wake up" I shake them "I think you should go to your room" saying good night I went up to my room.

Next day I woke up, did my morning duties and went downstairs.

"Morning mom, dad" I wish them and they did the same. I started digging my food.

"Amanda Rose Jackson! What did I tell you about eating your food bit by bit?" I looked at her sheepish as she chided me off. I tried swallowing the food but found my throat too dry.

"Ha! Now you can't swallow it! Serve you right! " my mom snickered. I rolled my eyes at my mother drinking a bit of water to help swallow the food.

"Girl! You and me. We are going for shopping" she said squealing. Ugh!!!  I hate shopping.

"Okay mom, give me five minutes to change" I said and run upstairs. I change into a pair of skinny jeans and a light blue T-shirt with a word 'Don't give up'. After an hour of shopping we got home and started cooking dinner. We had a great dinner with Clair parents.  They treat me like their own daughter and helps me in every possible way . They are my second parents.

1 month later

It's my English class and Mr Thomas was giving us our assignment.

"Class I'm pairing you up for this assignment" Mr Thomas said, everyone was groaning as they don't get to choose their partner. He called out the names and lastly my name was called 'Amanda Evan and James Ryder'. God! Is this real or did I heard it wrong.

"See you in the next class and I'm giving you 2 weeks for your assignment" he said and left.

"Am" James called me standing next to me.

"Hi, James " I said nervously. Why am I getting nervous.

"I was thinking why don't we go to my house for completing the assignment" he ask me with polite smile.

"ok sure, how about we start tomorrow at your house. You got my number so you can text me your address" I said hoping he could agree with me.

"Okay, tomorrow after school" he said, saying bye he left.

I rushed in the house as I kicked the door and went up the stairs, rushing to my bedroom and took a quick shower before putting on pajamas and jumping on the bed. I pulled my laptop onto my lap before turning it on and going to YouTube to just listen to music videos. 

Next hour I look into my English assignment, doing some advance research. When I stared out of the window only to realize that it's already dark. I moved my laptop and the books onto the spot beside me as I piled them up.

I yawned in exhaustion. I check my phone and it was 9:10 pm.
''Good night Clair, love you" I text Clair and went to sleep.
