Sitting here, under the small roof of the elevator on the deck. The wooden planks became loud, hammered by the hard rain that came from the darkened clouds above. I leaned my back against the metal fence that seperated us from the entrance. Looking up to the sky, through the glass pane roof, I held her tightly in my arms, covering her with my jacket. She gripped thightly at my shirt, crying furiously. All I could do then was sit silenty. Watching her as she cried, hitting my chest from time to time in anger. I couldn't blame her, how could I? I was the one who did this to myself, and, she has to be the one to suffer the most.
'DAMN IT! I didn't want any of this to happen!'
I knew in my mind, from the very beginning, that whatever happened, either way, she would be the one getting hurt. Still, I was selfish enough and went on with things my own way. I wanted to make it easy on her, make her hate me.
'I just made it worse.'
She was different. No matter what I did, she would always find a way for us to make-up. I didn't know what else I could do. I closed my eyes as I bowed my head, I held her closer, tighter, wishing that this would be just a dream.
"I'm sorry.... I'm sorry...."
I uttered, trying to hold back my tears. Nothing, she just kept on crying, gripping more tightly onto my shirt. Then I heard someone calling out to me."Ethan... Hey..." I didn't want to move. But the voice was getting louder. It wasn't her voice, but it definitely was a girl's voice.
"Hey... Ethan... WAKE UP!!!!!"
"ARGH!!!!"
I yelled, falling down. My head had hit one of the legs of the steel armchair in front of me as I fell onto the concrete floor. "W-wha-?" I uttered, opening my eyes in surprise. "I can't believe you ACTUALLY slept through class...AGAIN." My eyes were still a bit blurry as I tried to sit myself up. As my eyes regained their focus, I looked up, and saw the person who woke me from my sleep, the voice that I heard earlier, Natalie .
"Argh... that hurt you know..." I complained, holding my head up in pain. She stared at me for a while then crossed her arms, looking away. "Well don't blame me! I tried everything to wake you up, but nothing worked! You were sleeping like a log!" She pouted. 'The same as always"
'So it was that dream again, huh? Figures.'
I've been having this dream for quite a while now. I don't know what's going' on with me and my head, but I want it to stop.
"Argh... Well you usually wake me up by knocking me down to the ground so I don't have any idea on how 'Normally Waking me up' is to you" I replied to her, sarcastically. "Well if you didn't sleep in class I wouldn't have to wake you up." I just disregarded that statement. "Fine fine..." I noticed that we were the only ones left in the room, well besides for the teacher and a few other classmates of ours. "Oh hey, where are the others?" "Hm? Oh they went on ahead. Christie got hungry again."
'When did she didn't get hungry after a class?' I thought to myself as I laughed it off unsurprised.
I got up to my feet and reached for my bag at the side of the arm-chair I was sitting on, well sleeping is more like it. Just as I picked up my bag my phone rang. I reached for my pocket to see who it was. It was Mia.
"Hello?" I uttered answering the phone. The background sound was too loud, but it was familiar. Aside from the loud drops of rain, I'm definitely sure she was at the lrt.
"Ethan? It's Mia." She answered, a bit nervous. "I'm almost at SDA, but it's raining outside. Sorry but can you pick me up? I forgot to bring an umbrella with me." Mia replied in a soft voice. "You forgot? I told you to bring one with you didn't I?" Mia just kept quiet. Knowing that I've already reminded her about her umbrella countless times already. I let out a sigh, a bit irritated. "Alright, alright, I'll come and pick you up. Where are you now?" I replied, and just as I suspected she was still at the LRT, just a few stations away from the school. "Alright, I'll be waiting for you down the stairs of the exit then." "Mm, got it. Thanks Big bro." She thanked me, with a sigh of relief. "Alright, see you later." After saying thanks, we hung up the phone. Natalie then came up to me grinning.
