I woke up on the couch with my knees hugged to my chest. As I waited for my eyes to adjust to the darkness around me, I tried to fix my long auburn hair. What a mess. uuugg. I stood up and zipped my hoodie. God its cold on here. I shoved my hands into my pockets and walked throught the isles filled with books. Historical Fiction, Science, Comics, and finally, I reach the front desk. I swing around the corner and check the thermostat. 45° F. Well no wonder I'm freezing. I turn up the heat, and wait until I hear the blast of air from the vents. I sighed and twirled around, sitting down on the rolly chair that they had since I can remeber. I spin around, resting my elbow on the leather arm. I wonder if they have wifi here... Worth a shot. I took out my phone and pulled up the settings. They have an option availabe, so I connect and get on Youtube, just looking up music videos. I check my clock often, and when it reads 7:00, I head torwards the door.
I flick off the lights and lean up against the wall near the door. I don't want to go home. Mum would be mad, and I really don't feel like having a mark on my face. Everyone would be asking, and I don't want to tell anything about my mum and how she... I shook off the thought and walked out the door, waiting for it to slam shut before locking it with the silver key around my neck. Sighing, I turned around to face the sunlight. The sun streamed through the red and orange leaves, making patterns on the ground. I stepped down the stairs and jogged down the street. Mum is up now. Crap. She's probably wondering where I am. How can I tell her that I spent the night in a closed library? She would hit me harder than normal... I'll just tell her I fell asleep at the park or something. She hates Ezra for 'raising me for her.' In all honesty, its the truth. I looked up to see what street I was at. Oh great. Mine. Grumbling, I turned the corner and made my way torwards the end of the road. Still, I like the walk. Its nice and long, taking my mind off of things for a while.
Suddenly, a cold blast of wind whipped through the air, almost pushing me down. I closed my eyes and put up my arms, guarding my face and walking forward. What the crap? I immediately feel dizzy, and my knees feel weak. I shook off the feeling, and I try to move. I can't. I'm stuck in the air. No feeling in my arms or legs, I'm just standing there in the cold. I start to panick, and tears stream down my face. I really can't move. My voice seems to give out instantly, and I can't cry for help. But I feel it. Its dying down. The wind, slowly but surely, blows away. First my voice comes back. My heart is beating out of my chest, and I can't seem to catch my breath. I open my eyes and look around. What I see, startles me.
