Middle School Love

      "Really?!" Annie asks walking down the hall to her locker. "Yes! I get to sit next to Ryan in Chemistry! Get it? Chemistry?!" Says Annie's friend Alyssa. "Lucky!!" Annie says grabbing her science book. BRING!! "That's my cue!" Annie says closing her locker door.

     While Annie was walking down the hallway to get to the science classroom. She couldn't believe how lucky her friend was to sit next to Ryan. The most dreamy boy in school, well, at least she thought so. Ryan had long dark blond, almost brown, hair. He had beautiful green eyes. The only problem was the fact that his is one of the most popular boys in the school. Annie was not popular at all. She was the complete opposite of popular.

    She was too caught up in her daydream and thoughts she didn't notice who she ran into until they were both on the ground. "I'm sorry!" Annie says starting to grab her books. "It's cool," says a boy, he too is reaching for her books. Annie looks up. "Ryan!" She says before she can stop herself. "Yeah?" He says turning around. Annie just starred at him. She couldn't say anything. Ryan brushed his bangs out of his eyes and reached for the last book. Annie stood up and was brushing herself off when Ryan handed her, her last book. She blushed. "Thanks" Annie says taking the book. For a split second their hands touch. Annie blushed more. "No problem," Ryan said, "We should probably get to class, we're already late." He says turning around. "Come on" he says nodding his way.

    "Where have you two been?!" Asks Mrs. Burkheart. "We fell and had some stuff to pick up." Says Ryan opening the door for Annie. Annie rushes to her seat, only to find the seats have been rearranged. "Annie, Ryan. You two sit together at that table." Mrs. Burkheart says pointing across the room. "Yes Ma'm." Annie says.

   Later during class Ryan passed a note to Annie. It said, "Do you understand this?" "Yes, you don't?" Annie replied. "Nope!" Ryan wrote. Another fifteen minutes passed before the next note was passed. This one read, "501-345-2678" "What's this?" Annie wrote. "My number, you should use it after school." Ryan wrote. Just then the bell rang. "See ya later Ann!" Ryan says getting up from his seat. Ann, Annie repeats in her head. That's what he called me in third grade. He still remembers that? She thought.

   "Your KIDDING!!" Alyssa texts later that night.
     "Nope, he said "See you later Ann!" Annie says.
      "No way!! And he gave you his number?!" Alyssa asks.
      "Yup!!" Annie types excitedly.
       "Can I have it?" Alyssa asks.
       "No!!!" Annie says.
        "Why, we're besties!!" Alyssa says.
         "So?" Annie asks.
          "We are no longer friends" Alyssa says.
          "WHAT?!" Annie asks.
           "Bye!" Alyssa says.

Later Annie decided to text Ryan.

        "Hey! It's Annie, from school."
         " Hey girl!! What's up?"
         "Nothing much, kinda depressed, you?"
         "Nothing and what's wrong?"
         "Alyssa said we aren't friends anymore."
          "Y'all have been friends since kindergarten!! What happened?!"
           "I wouldn't give her your number!"
            "Woah! Hey, I need to talk to you tomorrow at school! Before school in the courtyard?"
              "Yeah sure! I gtg. Bye!!"
               "Bye!"

      The next day at school Annie came 20 minutes before school to meet Ryan in the courtyard. She wore her best plaid skirt and her hair was up in the best ponytail she could pull off. "Hey Ann!" Said a voice coming from behind Annie. "It's Annie!" Annie says laughing. "I know, I just like calling you Ann." Said Ryan "Ok" Annie said.  "I have to ask you a question..." Ryan said suddenly serious. "Yeah?" Annie asks. "You know that dance that's coming up?" Ryan starts. "Yes!!!!" Annie says getting excited. "Well, will you go with me?"
      Before Annie could answer Alyssa came up behind them and yelled "NO!! NO SHE WOULDN'T LIKE TO GO WITH YOU!!" "WHAT?!" Annie screamed. Ryan stepped back. "Ryan is mine!" Alyssa yelled. "No he isn't!" Said Annie. "Yeah! No I'm not!!" Said Ryan. "Ryan likes me...wait you like me, right Ryan?" Annie asks turning around. "Yes! I've always liked you! Since pre-k!" Ryan says blushing. "Really?!" Alyssa and Annie exclaim. "I've always liked you too Ryan! Yes I'll go to the dance with you!!" Annie exclaimed hugging Ryan. "NO!" Alyssa said stomping away.

     During science class Ryan and Annie couldn't stop blushing and laughing. While the teacher was talking they passed notes, laughed, and made jokes about the lesson. Ryan passed Annie a note that read, "Will you be my girlfriend?" "YES!! A MILLION TIMES YES!!" Annie wrote trying not to scream in excitement. BRING!!! That was the bell. School was over and tomorrow was Saturday. "Bye babe!" Ryan says as they part their ways after school.

     At home Annie started texting Ryan first thing.
      "Hey babe!"
      "Hey!"
       "What's up?"
        "Nothing much you?"
         "Missing you." Ryan wrote.
         " Awe! Wanna meet up tomorrow?" Annie asks.
          "Coffee shop?"
           "Yeah!"
            "I gtg! Bye baby! See you tomorrow!"
              "Bye!"

        The next day they met up at the coffee shop and talked and joked. And they lived "happily ever after"!
