Conserving the environment is an inside job. It must have start from the person him/herself – that initiative and willingness to change what seems to be unchangeable, impossible and irreversible.

Inherently, we are the steward of this Earth; we have dominion over it. But like in the Spiderman movie where it said 'With great power comes with great responsibility', it holds true with us all. Except that every single one of us has this responsibility and not just a few or those who have superpowers.

The problem however is that, we don't acknowledge this responsibility; we don't want to held accountable or liable for its destruction. All we care for is the benefit that we can get out of it, not thinking about the future. As long as we're making money out of mining and cutting trees, that's all that matters.

And what a close-minded, selfish way to look at it! If we are to effect a radical change, our care, our empathy for the environment must be deep-rooted; not just because media will be there and you think this is a good publicity. Because holding a plant while you smile in the camera, does not help the environment.

The environment is already destroyed. We cannot bring it back to where it was before. It is not within our power. But through our collective and genuine effort to save the Earth, we can always conserve the remainder. The list of ways on how to conserve it is inexhaustible.

And while it is good to say to yourself, 'What should I not do to make matters worst?', it shouldn't be the goal. But rather, 'What can I do to make matters better?'

Use your time, talent and treasure to make it happen.
