"Akira, take Nozomi and get out of here!" "Papa!" "Please don't die, Mama." "Live, Nozomi." "Over there! Get her!" Bang!
Purupurupurpurupuru. The girl woke up, her breathing hard and ragged. Sweat dripped down her face and onto the thin blanket. Purupurupurupurupuru. "Another nightmare," she muttered, as she turned on the light next to her bed. She looked over to the den den mushi on her desk and sighed. "What does that bastard want?" she asked as she got out of bed, the cold air biting her hot pale skin. Purupurupurupu-ker chank.
"Nozomi, why did you take so long to answer?!" a voice wailed. The den den mushi's face was twisted into a teary and anger mess of an expression. She could hear her caller drinking and then a loud sigh of satisfaction. "Well?!"
Nozomi sighed. "You called while I was sleeping, Kaido." There was silence before Kaido apologized, or at least tried to. She sighed. "Never mind. What is it that you want me to do?"
The yonko took another long drink before answering her question. "What you do best, of course." Another long pause filled loud gulps and another sigh. The snail's face was twisted into a hellish smile before the thundering voice spoke again. "I want you to kill someone for me."
"I know that, but what I don't know is who you want me to kill," she said. Kaido began laughing and Nozomi stared at the snail.
"It's actually two people and truth be told, I want to off them myself..."
"If you want a capture mission, then have one of your men do it," she interrupted. The snail remained quiet and Nozomi took this opportunity to re-educate her caller. "I don't capture or rescue, I kill. No exceptions." Kaido laughed and the den den mushi mimicked his face, tears falling from his eyes and its mouth cracked into a wide grin. Another series of loud gulps followed. "Besides, I already have a job you hired me to do."
"Heh, true, but these two bastards are really pissing me off." The snail's face changed from the laughing face it held before to one that would make even the devil himself cower in fear. Nozomi just stared at the snail, waiting for the Yonko to finish. "Mugiwara and Trafalgar Law." Nozomi's eyes widened at the mention of these names and she opened her mouth to speak but closed it before any words could escape her lips. Kaido started growling and the snail's face grew more intense as more time passed. "I want to see their heads on pike! Nozomi! You had better deliver!" With that, the beast hung up and the snail fell back asleep.
Nozomi took a deep breath and looked at the sleeping snail. She smiled as she placed the receiver back its place. "It'll cost you double their bounties each, you bastard." She left her room and walked to the center of the boat. She took a deep breath and reached her arms up towards the cloudy sky. Letting out a satisfied sigh, Nozomi placed her arms by her side again. "Now then," she said, pulling her silver hair into a high ponytail. Her dark blue eyes looked to the horizon and a smirk appeared on her lips. "Let's go greet our visitors." With that, she jumped into the sea and started swimming towards a yellow submarine.
