I woke up here, in the same small room, in the same laboratory, with the same disgusting food on the floor by the door as every other morning. I have been here for a month now, the only thing I have that these people have not taken from me is my memories, and my pocket watch. I hear footsteps approaching, so I pretend to sleep.
"This, Davis," says one of the men, "is subject number 73. Blair Scott. She is your new experiment."
"Her age?" Asks the other man.
"Fourteen" he answers, I shutter inwardly, remembering I was only just a kid, all alone. I immediately regret the movement, as I remember the men were watching me through the glass.
"Did she move?" Questioned Lauren, I recognized her as my 'therapist' per say.
"She's sleeping, Lauren, of course she'll move, she's not dead." Pointed out Davis.
Not dead. The words resonated in my head like the ringing bells after hitting your head. My thoughts immediately finished that sentence for Davis, Not dead... Yet.
"What is her talent?"questioned Davis.
"Her abilities are vast, telechenesis, other mind tricks we have yet to discover, but the one we find most interesting is her time-visiona. She can look thought time itself." He answered.
Time loses meaning in this place, I haven't been outside since they threw me into this hellhole. I can see through time, I could look back and remember what the sun was like, remember when I was happy. Sadly, they put me in a power-dampening cell so I couldn't break out. The three people walked away discussing other subjects, and I got up to put on a clean hospital gown, or lab gown in this case.
About an hour later, a man walks in, and I don't recognize him. My senses go haywire, but I keep a calm profile.
"Hello, I'm Davis, and you must be Blair."
"Yes." I answer quietly, almost a whisper.
"Listen to me Blair." He says like its supposed to reassure me. "I know you are scared, but I need you to trust that us taking you here was the best thing to do."
At that, I almost punched him in the face. Trust that taking me away from my parents and brother was the best thing! I barely remember the faces of the people I love the most because of them.
"I need you to follow me now, okay Blair?"
I nodded and agreed as bile rose in my throat. His white hair and yellow teeth made gag, and he carried around a thick stench of death.
As I follow him down the narrow hallways lined in rooms like mine, I notice other kids my age in the rooms, some are reading, others are crying, and others are staring at a wall. As I look back, I notice that Davis has turned to the left. My heart stops and I stop dead in my tracks when I see the sign on the door. Wide eyed, I stand there, and whisper :
"M-morgue?"
