Chapter 1
Hi my name is Claire and everyday of life I'm thankful for . I know a lot of people say that but they don't mean it until they have lived that do or die moment . I have had this moment many times !
I'm 14 and have almost died several times . You might think I'm like a crazy person that thinks that if they didn't do something they would die, but I know I would have died . When I was 8 I got lost in the woods trying to chase my sister after she screamed my name . That night I heard footsteps behind me I ran . The next day I found my sister laying on the floor next to the Hunter tree a tree my whole family planted before it went haywire .
She was badly wounded on her legs and face . When she came to I couldn't bare asking her anything, all I could do was just hug her and tell her how much I loved her . When we got home my mother asked us where we have been that was so important we had to leave at 3:00 am and not return till 7:00 pm ! Alice stepped forward with a scared look on her face . " I was out in the woods and this man grabbed my Armand beat me mom ! I finally got away and yelled for Claire and then I passed out . She saved me she came and rescued me mommy ! "
From that moment forward I protected my family all I could . Me and my twin sister Alice were the oldest and we needed to show our family how to protect yourself . Almost half of my life I had to life without my mom their so Alice and I had to step up and take over her position .
Have you ever heard the phrase "family is the most important thing ever ?" Well it very true I wouldn't trade smooth skin, no scars, and a normal family for anything because like I said earlier you haven't lived until you have that one do or die moment . And my whole life is just one whole do or die book !
Your probably wondering why my I can die at any moment . It's because my family isn't normal, not even a little bit . My family has a secret that puts all of us in great danger all the time !
