Marinette's head was down in class once again. Alya looked at her friend worriedly. She's been acting like this for the past two days, and no one knew why.

Nino turned around giving a questioning look to Alya and Alya just shook her head showing her lack of knowledge. Adrien was also looking at Marinette with an unsure facial expression.

"Marinette! Are you sleeping in my classroom?" Ms. Mendeleive called with an icy tone clear in her fake sweet voice.

Marinette lifted her head slowly and replied quietly without seeming to be fully present. She didn't even make eye contact when she replied. "It won't happen again Ms. Mendeleive."

This really made Alya worry.

When the bell rang Marinette was the first one out, not giving anyone a chance to talk to her.
She just needed to leave, the tension is the room was suffocating. She was tired of the worried glances people gave her. Couldn't they just ignore her?

"Marinette! Wait up girl!" She could hear Alya call.

Turning around she also saw Nino and Adrien walking with her.

Oh No! She made eye contact! Alya and Nino she could handle. But Adrien?!

"Hey Marinette!" Nino spoke first.

"H-hi.." she said while looking at the ground.

"You alright girl , you seem to be down."

Marinette lifted her head up in a panic. Did she actually let her true feelings show? She glanced at Alya then Adrien before stammering a response.

"U-uh yes! Of course! I'm alright! Really.." she forced a smile.

Adrien's green eyes seemed to be burning into her as he listened. His intense calculating gaze forced her to look back down.

Placing a hand on her shoulder he finally asked in a gentle concerned tone.

"Is everything really okay Marinette?"

Her heart jumped upon hearing his tone and she looked up once again ready to lie, but his warm, emerald, adamant eyes stopped her. She could also see Nino and Alya's hurt faces telling her that they knew her first reply was a lie.

"I.."

Smiling sadly she finished, "Guys don't worry about me..Really.
I'll somehow manage."

And with that the bell rang signaling the next class. Marinette walked off not turning back, leaving a hurt and confused Alya behind, and a worrying Nino and Adrien.

-------------------------------------

When Marinette got home she jumped onto her bed burying her face into her pillow. It was another hard day to get through. A week ago Marinette learned that her grandmother had died. It was a shock to her parents and herself but the loss didn't really hit her until the funeral two days ago. She started to tear up into her pillow as she recalled the sorrowful event. When they buried her grandmother she felt like she had lost a piece of her heart. Her grandmother who made her believe in herself and taught her what a hero truly was. Without her guidance she would have never been able to become Ladybug. And now her grandmother , the one who lit her fire, was gone. Marinette felt so sad. So alone. And yet, she couldn't say anything to her friends. She didn't want to burden them with her problems. It wasn't worth it. So she hurt alone in her room. Where she thought no one would know until she heard a voice.
