When God created angels to look over his other creations, Humans, he forbid the angels to set their will into the Humans lives. For if they shall break His sacred rule, they will fall from grace. They could only whisper into the Humans ears, giving them hope. Ages went by, Humans killed other Humans, making their once pure soul turn to a black abomination. An angel, by the name of Josiel, loved the humans, maybe a little too much. He felt hatred for the humans that would kill the humans he was looking after. He grew attached to the humans, but fear of Falling prevented him from exercising his will and defying The Lords Law. Josiel went to family to family, all ending in tragedy. He was flying in the skies until he felt a pang in his chest. It was pain, fear, and loneliness. He looked down and started to search for the source of such despair. In the distance, Josiel sees smoke, rising into the sky. He flies over to see what the evil Humans have done to another family. Tears start to fall from Josiel eyes at the sight of a man and woman with spears sticking out of them, their corpses, scortched , like the rest of the house. Josiel was about to fly as fast as he could away from a horrid sight, until he heard a whimper. Josiel enters the house to find a little boy, no old enough to hold a spear. Josiel's heart was filled with hope, that even a soul like this one's can survive atrosities. The boy's eyes were red from tears from the death of his family. Josiel walks over the boy and kneels infront of him. The boy looking around for help does not see the caring spirit that has a smile on his face. Josiel remembers he can not express his will over the boys's life, but he knows words can replace the despair in his heart with hope.
"Live", Josiel whispers to the boy.
The boy begins to stop crying, whiping away excess tears and mucus from his face. Josiel knows he has helped a soul escape pain, so he persedes to watch over him. In time, the boy became a man with a family and loving wife. The man goes off hunting to feed his family for the coming evening. Josiel knows that the man has become an excellent hunter, so he has no fear for him. Instead, Josiel decides to stay with his family, looking over them, giving them happiness and reassurance the man will be safe. Josiel has grown attached to the man's son, who was helping his mother get ready for his fathers return. Josiel is grateful the man has produced a family worthy of Heaven. He feels a presence, high above him. He leaves the house to fly in the sky, to see who is lurking in the clouds. It is Frannel, an angel with no real attachments to the humans. He feels like human lives have no real importance, but nonetheless, does God's will.
"Frannel, what business do you have here? This family is under my supervison.Your time is better spent elsewhere", Josiel spits at Franne, for he knows what thoughts swirl in his mind.
"My business is with you, brother, not those....things...down there. You grow too attached too swiftly. It is pathetic. Go to Heaven and spend a century or two and relax. Your heart breaks with every death you see, and the feeling is uncomfortable to me. The others may respect you for your strength to endure, but me and some of our brothers and sisters agree that such pathetic emotions are not for our kind to feel.Come with me, Josiel and restore yourself in Heaven."
"You don't understand, Frannel. You don't understand that even though they know they dont have a long life span, they try to live up to Our Fathers teachings. They endure so much, but they never stop to create happiness out of despair. My dear brother, this is where i belong. The man below who is hunting was raised by my voice. He has created his little Heaven down there. I am sure Father agrees with what i have done here."
Frannel shakes his head and looks up and says,"Brothers, sisters, i have tried to deliver our brother from more pain. He denies my offer. I take my leave, Josiel. Be well, brother."
Frannel flies staright up to pass through heavens gates. Josiel, thinking about his brothers words does not feel the lingering pain in his chest until he starts to descend. Now, feeling the full force, dives to check on the family. The man has returned to find his wife and son hostages to men with black and red clothing. What appears to be eyes overlapping eachother, one vertical one horzontal, carved into the mens forehead. The man with his spear, is in a fighting stance against the third evil man.
