ch 6

Amanda POV

Next day on my way to school I explained Clair that my assignment partner is James and she was giggling.

"I'm happy, you guys got time to spend together" Clair said with a huge grin on her face.

"Yeah, but it's only for a week or two. However I'm not going to miss this chance" I said smiling to Clair.

"That's my girl" Clair said and we started giggling. After which we went for class together since she had a same class with me.

My rest of the day was blur to me. I don't know why but I've been thinking about James this days so much. Maybe we have little time to spend together because soon we graduating and I'm going to miss him so im thinking about him. Yeah maybe whatever I've to get him out of my mind. God!  I forgot to text Clair. I quickly took out my phone.

"Clair, you don't have to pick me after school. James text me before and I'm going to his house for assignment" I text her. After a minute I received her message.

"Okay sweetheart, good luck and update me" I smile looking at her message. This girl will never stop teasing me.

Now I'm waiting for James but he's not coming. Should I call him, no I better text him as I was about took out my phone from my jeans.

"Hi, Am I'm sorry I'm late" James said with an apologetic smile. God! They way he call my name, it sound perfect.

"It's okay, James" I said with a smile. We got in and drove off to his house as we reach my jaw dropped open. I know he's rich but I didn't expect him to be this rich I mean his house was huge like my home in Italy. And Clair said he lives alone.

"Is this your house" I ask him bluntly still looking at the house from the window.

"Actually, it's not mine. It's my parents house" he said laughing and I glare at him.

"I'm just kidding, this is my house welcome" he said and opens the door for me.

We went inside the house and I saw a woman mid 50s working in the kitchen, as she feel our presences she turned around and smile. I return her the same.

"Emily, this is my friend Amanda, Am this is Emily, my cook and a mother figure too" James said lovingly and I could see love in his eyes.

"Sweetheart, it's nice to meet you and call me Emily. You are much better than others that James had brought home. I'm so happy for both of you" she said excitedly. I was shock to hear that did she  think that I'm one of James fling.

"Hello!! Emily it's nice to meet you too.  And no I'm just his friend and we got partnered to complete an assignment" I explain to her with an awkward smile. Sensing our awkward talk James change the subject.

"We are going to my room, please bring something to eat" he said and climb the stairs I followed him behind.

Did he just say 'my room' oh my God. Am, Don't be nervous, its not like you're are here to spend some lovely time with him you are here to work on assignment and you will focus on that i mentally encourage myself . My hand were sweating so I nervously rub it on my jean. He click the door to his room and I followed him.

"Make yourself comfortable" he said walking towards the bathroom. Maybe to change his clothes. 

I look around his room, it was dark in colour and there was family photo frame too. I reach for the frame to have a clear look it was James and his family. He's carrying a girl similar to him, so I'm guessing it's his sister. He look handsome, happy and carefree in the photo.

"That's my family" he said looking at the photo with a smiling face.

"You have such a wonderful family" I said to him.

"Yeah, I'm one hell of a lucky" he said, I was looking at him now, he was wearing a grey shirt and black pajamas and he look so handsome even in this outfit.

"Are you done Checking me out" he said with a cocky smirk.

"I wasn't checking you out" I said as my check flush.

"Whatever" he said and chuckled.
After that we chat, did our research and he even laugh at my clumsiness, it was so embarrassing for an hour. Looking at my phone it was already 6 pm.

"I think I better go it's getting dark" I said looking at the window. He looked out and said 'time does fly fast' I nodded agreeing with him.

"Come let me drop you" he said, since I don't have car and I don't want to disturb  Clair I nodded.

He drop me off and i thank him. I went straight to my room changing clothes, feeling exhausted I slept right away with a smile on my face.

I woke up with my phone ringing, I pick up without checking ID.

"Hello" "Amanda Evan, get your ass down, we are getting late" she scream. Oh God I'm late.

"I'm coming please give me 5 minutes" I said and hang up. I took quick shower put my clothes grab my bag and rush out the door not before grabbing apple apple from the table.

"I'm sorry I'm late" I said giving my best puppy eyes.

"How can I resist that face, come on let's go but you better explain to me how did it go yesterday" she said and start the engine. I explain what happen at James house on our way to school. She was happy that I got to spend time with my crush.

"I want to thank and kiss Mr Thomas for pairing James with you" she said and started giggling.

"But be careful Am, he is a playboy. I don't want you getting hurt" she said with a concern face. I just nodded my head I know she telling the truth but I can't stop liking him too.
