"I GOT THEM!!" a voice screamed in Skyler's ear after she picked up her ringing phone. It was her best friend and fellow Directioner, Madison.

"You WHAT?!?" She exclaimed. "I thought they were all out!"

"Nope! A friend of mine has a cousin whose step dad has connections and she got us VIP TICKETS TO THE ONE DIRECTION CONCERT!" Madison laughed, excitement growing with each word.

"This is insane! I never thought we could get them! You are the BEST Madison Taylor!"

"Haha...yeah, I know." She laughed.

They spent the next 2 hours excitedly discussing the tour. By the time they finished talking they had decided since the concert was in San Francisco, 5 hours from their small town of Danville, they would drive down a day early, rent a hotel room, do some shopping and get ready before the big concert the next day.

"Are you sure your parents will agree to this Mads?" Skyler asked. "I mean, my parents are usually pretty laid back about stuff like this, since they don't really seem to care all that much anyway what I do, but your parents are pretty protective."

"I'll convince them." Madison replied, and Skyler could almost see the look of determination she had seen many times before.

"We're almost 18 now, Sky, and we're going to be going off to different states for college next fall. If they can't trust me to live a day without them in the same state, how will they ever manage to let me leave for college? Besides, nothing could possibly happen. We'll get there early, do some shopping, go to the concert, and have the time of our lives. Honestly, sometimes I wish my parents didn't care that much. Between my dad and my 5 overprotective brothers, I'll be 30 before I get a date!" Madison laughed.

Skyler smiled as she heard her best friend's rant. She always seemed to have everything planned out, but when it all came down to it, Madison was a spontaneous roll-with-it kind of girl. Which is exactly why they were best friends. Skyler, on the other hand, tended to take life too seriously sometimes and was more responsible because her parents never were. Her parents were the kind of parents to go to work early, stay late, and leave Skyler to fend for herself, which she was fine with most of the time. It's just that sometimes, she wanted someone to talk about her day to, go to for advice, try on dresses with; the kind of things Madison's mom did with her. Oh well, Skyler thought. At least my parents aren't strict. I can't have the best of both worlds. And my brothers are always there for me... She felt a smile slowly spread across her face as she thought of her five wonderful brothers. Travis was the oldest at 27and was the muscular jock kind of guy with a sweet spot for his only sister. Tanner was next in age at 25, and he was the confident adorable brother with a constant stream of girlfriends coming in and out of his life. Then there was Austin and Brandon, or A&B as Skyler liked to call them. They were twins, age 21, with sweet personalities and always ready to listen to Skyler. Dylan was a dirty blonde with tousled hair, deep hazel eyes that made girls blush when he winked at them, and adorable dimples to match his confident and sincere smile. Skyler was closest to Dylan more than the rest of her brothers, since Dylan was 19 and they had shared many growing up experiences together. He was by far the most protective, and always interested in who she was.

Skyler was brought out of her reverie by Madison's continued rambling "...and so I decided to call her and ask and Amber said yes and now here we have tickets!" She squealed excitedly. "Hey Sky, I've gotta go. I hear Payton getting into something, and you know how she can be! See you at school tomorrow!" Madison finished.

"Alright Lils, see ya then!" Skyler sang into the phone before ending the call.

Lily was Madison's middle name, as Skyler found out the first time she met Madison when her crush walked by and winked at her saying "Hows it going Lils?" Madison, of course, started whisper-screaming to Skyler in excitement and ever since then the name just stuck. That was in 7th grade, and after moving into highschool, barely anyone remembered her former nickname except Skyler who could never stop calling her that, despite Madison's complaints throughout sophomore year when she was teased for it. Skyler believed Madison secretly liked it, but that was just her opinion.

A jolting sound brought her back to the present."Give you this, give you that, blow a kiss, take it back, if I looked inside your brain..."

She picked up her phone to see a text from Parker, one of her closest friends. "Hey Sky, if you aren't busy wanna come to the beach with me tomorrow?"

Skyler quickly looked up her calendar. Tuesday. "Sure! What time. Can Madison come?" "Well I was kind of hoping we could just hang out like old times, ya know, but I guess so." came the reply.

Skyler sighed and leaned her head against the wall beside her bed. Why couldn't they just be friends? Parker had always had a crush on Skyler, but she hadn't known this until the beginning of Junior year. It kind of shocked her actually since she had almost always thought of Parker as just a friend(except for the first few months when she met him in which she dreamed about him until she realized he wasn't going to make a move). Then Parker finally told her one day and they started dating all through the summer last year. It wasn't long before it got too stressful once Senior year started and school was harder to manage. The ended up fighting alot and Skyler realized it just wasn't going to work out, no matter how much they tried. It had been about 1/2 a year since they broke up and they had kept being good friends, but it was hard to keep it that way. She couldn't even remember the Parker she had dated, since all she could see now was the friend who was like a brother to her for all those years. She sighed, hoping Parker would start to see her as a sister soon instead of as a crush he's always had. I honestly think he just needs to find a girl who's right for him and then we can still be good friends, Skyler thought.

"Look Parker, I'll let you know tomorrow. I gotta go. See ya!" Skyler quickly sent back a text.

She got up from her bed and ran quickly down the stairs before sliding into the kitchen on the wooden floor. Her house felt so big and empty when nobody was home. Since only Skyler, her parents, and Dylan lived there now, it was so quiet. She decided to blast some karaoke music to fill the emptiness. Fifteen minutes later, Skyler was jumping around the room belting out at the top of her lungs "I should've I should've oh, I should've kissed you!" as she danced around in her sweatpants and tanktop while using a wooden spoon as a microphone. Suddenly she heard the garage door open and raced over to turn the music off, when she heard hysterical laughter coming from down the hallway. Dylan stood there laughing sheepishly with one of his best friends, Tray. Tray was one of the hottest guys in school but to Skyler he was more than just Dylan's friend. He was her crush. Her exception to the "no boys allowed" rule. He was the one who always made her blush and drove her insane at the same time. She hated and loved him and she hated and loved that she didn't know how she felt about him. She kept her feelings for him hidden from everyone, including Madison, and tried to avoid embarrassing herself by staying out of the way when he came around, but here she was, no makup on, dancing around the kitchen on a pj day and belting out a boy band song into a wooden spoon. Talk about awkward...

" Hey Skyler" Tray said, smirking at her embarrassment.

"DYLAN!!" Skyler demanded an explanation, ignoring Tray's comment as she felt her face flush. "You didn't tell me you were bringing anyone home!"

"I didn't know I needed to inform you, little sister." Dyland replied with a raised eyebrow. The look on his face guessed what she never wanted anyone to know, her feelings for Tray. If that's what they were. "Anyway, it's only Tray. He's been my best friend for only THREE YEARS now, so I think you would be used to him being around." He teased.

Skyler sighed. "Sorry, Dyl, its fine. Although next time you could warn me so I don't look like an escaped maniac from a karaoke club," she said with a wink.

Dylan gave her a lopsided grin and Tray let out a long, carefree laugh. "Well if that's the case, the karaoke club escapees have certainly improved!" Tray said with a wink.

Skyler shot him a glare, but immediately softened to a rueful grin. Suddenly her mouth formed an "O" and her eyes got wide with excitement.
