I want to clarify quickly that I knooooow Daikoku is a teacher at the Academy, not an actual Squad Leader but for some ungodly reason his character spoke to me as her Squad leader.  Lol

》Age 13《

I sat along side the other members of my squad.  Kirou was to my left, Ami on my right.  Kirou was laying on his back, a long piece of candy draped on his lips, slowly inching into his mouth as he slowly chewed the sugar treat.  His shaggy brown hair was covering his eyes so I wasn't even sure if he had them open.  I glanced over at Ami, who was using the tips of her shoulder length burgundy hair to tickle her skin as she stared into the woods in front of us.  "Daikoku-Sensei is late."
I looked towards the woods and sighed.  "Yeah I know, it's weird."
"Wasn't he training you a bunch Mimi?  Is he usually late?"  I don't think Kirou stopped chewing his candy when he spoke, but I disregarded that thought.
"Not really no.  Sometimes early but he usually shows up exactly when we're suppose to meet up."
We fell silent after that.  We've been training with Daikoku-Sensei for a few weeks now with surprisingly no problems.  Ami was really loud and boisterous, but very sweet.  Kirou on the other hand was a soft spoken kid, but very passionate and strong.  I've been friends with Kirou for a while now so we were already somewhat close, Ami pretty much had fit right in with us!  I was about to join Kirou and lay down but only leaned back slightly when I noticed Daikoku-Sensei walking.  I huffed when he fully came into view.  "You're late Sensei."
He held up a piece of paper.  "Got a mission for you guys."
Ami jumped up, nearly stepping on me.  "FINALLY!  WHO MUST I PROTECT?"
I sighed and gently tugged on her cargo shorts.  "We're Genin, do you really think they are going to give us such serious jobs?"
Daikoku-Sensei scratched his cheek awkwardly.  "Well you will technically be protecting, in a sense."
Ami stuck her tongue out at me, to which I rolled my eyes at.  "So what is our mission?"
"Well there's been a flu going around that has caused 3 teachers at the daycare to become unable to go to work.  With only 2 teachers there plus today is when a teacher goes on supply run for the daycare they're severely understaffed."
"BABYSITTING?!"  I shifted closer to Kirou, knowing Ami was about to flip her lid.  "WE'RE NINJAS, NOT BABYSITTERS!"
Sensei frowned.  "Ami.  Do you think you're going to get an S ranked mission for your first mission?  You are a genin.  You must first learn the basics to ninja life.  This job may seem in a sense lame, but trust me when I say it's the first step to growing as a ninja."
Ami huffed but said no more, silently accepting what our Sensei said.  Kirou stood up, then helped me up as well.  "We wouldn't be making a good start if we were late to our first mission, shouldn't we be heading out?"
Daikoku-Sensei agreed and we followed him through the streets of Konoha.  It didn't take long for us to make our way to the school.  I admired the miscellaneous paintings throughout the main room, each one a name in the corner.  "OK listen up."  I stood straight and waited for our orders.  "Now two of you will stay here to help with the kids, while the third will join Ms. Takakana in getting the supplies.  Who wants to jo-"
"Oh please me!"  Sensei nodded to Ami and looked towards Kirou and I. "Then you two will be with students.  Now one of you will join Ms.  Saitama(yessssss I know lol) with the younger ones, while the other joins me with the older ones."
I raised my hand up slightly.  "I'll join with the younger ones."
"Ok perfect.  Ami, you go to the end of the hallway and out the back door, that's where Ms. Takakana wants to meet up for the supply run.  Mimi you go through the second door on the left.  Kirou you're with me in the first door on the right."
We all did a salute and went our respective ways.  I entered a room that felt like a mad house.  The room wasn't particularly loud, but there were many kids running and messes everywhere.  A frantic woman in a blouse and jeans was trying to clean crayon off a large table.  "OH!  YOU'RE FROM THE TEAM WE REQUESTED?"  I nodded, feeling bad for the flustered middle aged woman.  She motioned towards the mess and children.  "These kids are between 2 to about 4.  There usually aren't this many kids to one teacher but things have gotten a bit out of hand due to the flu!  Just do what you can, I'm about to prep for snack!"
I looked around the room and decided to first pick up the stations.  I put all the dress up clothes back in order, put the blocks in their respective place, then started trying to organize the books.  There were many kids shoving and making their way in front of other kids.  Some stood there frustrated and would snatch toys.  I looked down at the book in my hands.  "Llama Llama and... the bully goat.  Hmmmm..."  I stood up and spoke loudly.  "Circle time!"

Time skip!

I waved goodbye to the last of the children and their parents as they walked out the door.  I blew a few strands of hair out of my face and continued to sweep the floor.  Ms. Saitama was jotting something down in a binder.  As I emptied out the dust pan she closed the binder and placed it in a tip shelf.  "Well Mimi I must say, you do have a way with children."
I lifted the trash bag out and began to tie it up as I spoke, "I didn't even notice!  These kids were quite the patience tester."
She laughed.  "Yes but you handled things very well!  I can't thank you enough for the help!  You can go ahead and head home, there isn't much left to do now!"
"Will do Ma'am!  I'll take this to the dumpster on my way out!"
I bowed and made my way outside.  As I walked home, Shino joined me.  Shino was my first friend when I joined the Academy and who I consider my closest friend. "Heard you got a mission today.  Daycare work?  Dreadful."
I stretched my arms up as we continued to walk.  "Yeah but it wasn't too bad.  Once you learn the basics to keeping large groups of kids entertained it's pretty easy breezy."
Shino chuckled and shook his head.  "I could never do it."
I shrugged my shoulders.  "I don't wanna do that every day that's for sure.  The woman seemed so frustrated so I really worked hard to help her out is all.  Soooo how's it going with your team?"
Shino was silent for a moment.  "I don't hate them."
"BFAAAAHAHA!"  I couldn't even help the laugh.  "You serious Shino?  Come on I happen to really like Hinata!  Sure she's shy and all but she's really nice and looks can be deceiving!"
"You forgot about Kiba."
"Hmmmm..  ok yeah he's a bit annoying sometimes but come on he is really good with Akemaru!"
"You always did strive to find the good in people."
We waved goodbye as we got to my home.  I trudged through the living room and flopped onto the couch.  "Heard you had your first mission today."
I peeped up at dad who was staring down at me.  "Yepp.  Hopefully tomorrow Daikoku-Sensei will tell us how we all did."
Dad pushed my legs off the couch so he could sit.  I huffed and sat upright, my legs crossed.  "How do you think you did?"
I pondered for a moment.  "I mean I suppose I did good.  We were helping hold the fort down at the daycare since 3 of the 5 teachers were sick from the flu, plus another teacher had to do a supply run.  The teacher Ms. Saitama said I was a big help.  I mean I didn't save lives today but I did everything in my power to make things easier and go smoothly."
Dad ruffled my hair, causing my top bun to fall apart.  "Well since your mission was a success, how about we go get some ramen?"
I smiled cheekily as I nodded.
