I was shrouded in darkness, but I could hear voices.
Deep, masculine voices.
Then I heard one called my name, but I couldn't make out whom it belonged to.
"Scarlett? Scarlett!" The words were rushed in a panicked mess and to me it only sounded like a whisper. A warm hand gently stroked my forehead.
I wanted to shout that I could hear them and be able to open my eyes and see what was going on.
But the voices became softer and softer until I heard nothing at all and drifted back into a deep sleep.

Blood; there was blood everywhere.
Smashed furniture and broken glass surrounded me, windows shattered and curtains torn. But there was a mirror, a perfectly intact mirror in front of me. My eyes were golden-coloured, my hair matted and my body coated in red.
Two black wings extruded from my shoulder blades. Brilliant charcoal, long feathers ran along until the very tips of each sides, silky and polished in all their magnificence.
But I was smiling. And it wasn't a happy smile, it was malicious and dark, screaming evil intentions.
And then Erik was beside me, looking even more wicked than I did. His eyes were no longer that beautiful turquoise, they were black, with no life to be seen in them. Erik too had black wings, enveloped down behind his back and blood stained on his face, yet still managing to appear incredible sexy.
He wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and began trailing rough kisses up my neck. I didn't stop him, only arched my back into him and let him do what he wanted.
"Aren't you proud of what we've done?" He whispered into my ear.
I only smiled and turned to kiss him on the lips.
Then something was there that wasn't before. There were several bloodied bodies lying dead around us. I saw Adrian's body, Lucy's....even Kade's.
And I was happy about it.

I woke up screaming.
My eyes were half opened, warms tears spilling out of them as if I'd been temporary blinded by the nightmare.
The bed I was lying on was unknown territory, I never been here before. My body thrashed around, my arms frantically looking for something to hold onto to; something to let me know that I was in the real world now. I felt panicked, desperate for some sort of comfort, frightened that there was none.
Then two strong arms gripped my shoulders and it immediately made me feel scared instead of comforted. I screamed louder until my throat hurt, mixed with my choking and sobs.
The arms shook me forcefully, "Scarlett! Scarlett snap out of it!"
I recognised the voice as Erik's and stopped struggling for a brief moment, just to see his face.
He sat beside me, his facial expression was unnerving, like he was worried.
But all I could think about was those black, lifeless eyes and that grim smile. I lashed out, hitting him in the face while attempting to scramble out of the covers. I called out for help, but the sound I made was like a whimper, barely audible from all my previous screaming. I didn't make it two feet from the bed when Erik caught up to me.
He wrapped his arms around my arms and chest, holding me tight against him in a position where no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get him to release me.
