Black heart of ace

Chapter 1

I woke up to my niece, Meadow, and nephew, Ike, jumping on my bed. I groaned and I shoved my face further into my pillow.

"Wake up auntie River! We want waffles before we have to leave!" They whined.

I groaned louder and shoved my face further into my pillow. They kept jumping and I was getting a little annoyed. Ike took my pillow and hit me with it.

"Auntie River can we please have waffles?" He whined.

"Alright kids, I'll go make waffles but you need to get your stuff together while I'm cooking. I don't want your mom get mad at me." I said sitting up.

" Ok, oh can we have some chocolate milk to." Meadow said while jumping off my bed.

"Of course sweetie now you guys go get ready." I said while getting out of bed.

I saw their big bright smiles on their faces, then they ran off to get ready. I laid back down.

"Those kids are gonna be--" I got cut off by Ike. " Get up, your faster than this lazy."

"Don't forget I don't have to make you waffles." I said giggling a little.

I heard Meadow slap him and telling him to shut up.

I was humming to the radio while the kids watched t.v. I started doing dishes while I heard a knock on the door.

I hurried to the door to answer. I was excited to see my sister. I opened the door and I got pulled into a hug.

" Hey sister thank you so much for taking to kids." She blurted out.

"Hey, nice to see you too." I said rolling my eyes.

She laughed and smiled when she saw  Ike and Meadow watching t.v

"Hey babies." She said smiling while sticking her arms out.

" MOMMY WE MISSED YOU!" They yelled running to give her a hug. I giggled seeing how happy they where together.

" It's only been two days I don't think it's been years since you see your mom kids." I said laughing.

They laughed and hugged their mom tighter. I looked at her and sighed.

"Valentine how is everything?" I asked.

"Good, just good." She said smiling.

I knew something was up but I didn't want to point it out.

"Well I got to go, so I'll see you in a couple of weeks." She said walking off with the kids while blowing me a kiss.

I smiled and shut the door. I looked at the clock and it was 8:30 so I got ready for work.

I got to work at 9:00. I went straight to the back to get ready. I saw Pierce and Rose sitting and talking.

"Hey guys." I said while putting my hair up.

"Hey sweetheart." They said.

I smiled and put my glasses on, getting ready to start the day.

"Damn river you look like a ghost in all that black." Pierce said, "I love it. Matches your midnight black hair and your ghost white skin."

I rolled my eye "Thanks anything else to add?"

"Your eyes are looking extra gold, your hips are wider, good thing attracts men, and your as--" I cut him off with my hand in the air.

"Ok that's good enough Pierce." Rise said punching his shoulder.

I walked out of the break room, and got ready to start the day.

13 hours later my shift ended. I was exusted. I look to see if Pierce and Rose left. Sadly they did.

I grabbed my things and locked up the cafe. I hummed, purple rain by Prince, and started walking to my apartment building.

I saw a dark figure walk towards me. I checked the time and it said 10:32. I didn't expect anyone to be out this late at night. I tried to ignore it but I was a little scared.

The dark figure got closer and closer by the minute. I freaked out. All of sudden I fell to the ground with the figure on top of me. I tried to scream but my mouth was covered by rough hands, at that moment I push my hands on his chest. I was terrified and I didn't know what to do.

I felt weak and my heart rate rised and I got more scared. It was too dark to notice what was happening, so I tried my best to keep calm and get out of this horrific situation.
