Your POV: "I wish that some one would save me..." I muttered under my breath. My Name is (Y/N) (L/N) and I am a 16 year old orphan, currently living in Seoul, South Korea. I'm originally from (Y/C) but for my 8th birthday my parents took me here and then never took me back. I had no idea what was happening at the time of course but I've grown too accept the fact that my parents didn't want me,but to be fair, I'm not the most likable person that you'll ever meet.
I was laying on my bed, alone in my cramped room, listening to a band called BTS that I had discovered about a year ago now. I had never actually seen what they looked like thanks to the building's no phone rule. One of my personal favorite songs came on and I started to hum lightly along with the tune when I heard quick steps and a sharp knock on the door.
"Come in" I said in a monotone voice as the manager of this tedious establishment, Ms. Jhi made her way into my room.
"Get downstairs," she begins. "There are people adopting and they want someone from your age range." That was new, no one ever wanted teenagers. Every couple who comes here is looking for either a baby or a kid under ten. But then again she never said that it was a couple.
I got out of my not so comfortable bet and switched off the music, now playing Dreamcatcher's "Chase Me." (A/N: I highly recommend them, their music is amazing and they actually had their 100 day anniversary on 4/22/2017 :D) She left to get the others- and probably wake up one or two of them- while I steadily marched down the staircase, attempting to tame my hair as I went. Hey, I might not be the most gorgeous person in the world but I at least want to make an okay first impression.
By the time I had reached the bottom of the old oak wood staircase I had managed to catch a glimpse of the people adopting and let me tell you, when I woke up today I was not expecting to see people this handsome- stunning even, and there were so many of them. I did a quick head count, "7" I thought to my self.
Those original thoughts were shoved from my head when a door quietly squeak open from the middle of the first floor hallway, just to the right of Ms. Jhi's desk. The twin sisters that I love oh so much peered their 6 year old heads out from their shared room as a give them a quick, miniature smile and saw them return it as genuinely as possible.
Soo mi and Mi jin were here sense they were born, their mother had died just minutes after giving birth to them and no one had known who the father was. They had turned up here about two years after I had, I was ten at that point. I had had helped Ms. Jhi raise them, teaching them everything I knew, including fluent English. We were all closer than siblings and just about nothing could break us apart. We even would speak and write in English so that no one would know what we were saying.
My gaze returned to the room in front of me and I concluded my journey down the stairs and made my way to the end of the moderately short line. The way the adoption process works here is the people adopting chose an age group (Infant, child, or teenager. infant or child being more popular) and then chose three or four kids of that group. Those three or four people get interviewed and who ever is adopting choses the one they like most, with the exception of two+ children being adopted.
I was confident that these people wouldn't pick me seeing as they were all guys and no one want's the girl who looks so exotic. Or so I thought. The three in the back were having what appeared to be a pointless argument about who knows what while the other four, who looked to be at least a year older and twice as mature. They were all smiling widely at all of us, they actually look like they would pretty good parents compared to some of the other people adopting in the past.
Ms. Jhi came down the stairs at last, followed by on more kid before she began the familiar process. She introduced each of us by saying our name followed by our age then something interesting about us. For me that was "(Y/N) (L/N), 16 years old, she was born in (Y/C) but was left here at age 8. she is fluent in English and Korean." That fact seemed to interest them, mostly the tallest one standing in the middle for he ever so slightly changed his stance and smiled a bit larger. Not the thing most people pay attention to? Yeah.
After the introductions, the selection really began. They spoke quietly amongst themselves for a couple of minutes before the one who looked to be the oldest spoke up. "We'll take," He paused for a second and everyone in the room seemed to suck in a breath as they waited. "We'll Take Heon woo, Yeon a, and (Y/N).
"Wait," I thought. "What!"
