Prologue:

The day Joshua and Erica Clemens moved into the large Victorian house on 1366 West Black Raven Drive in Saint Claire Louisiana was warm and bright. Their new home had been a steal off of the market of today's economy. Almost too good to be true thought Erica Clemens whom had only looked for her, her husband and daughter's new home for a mere week. The ad in the local Baton Rouge newspaper just beckoned for her to come and take a look at the beautiful and well-kept house that had once been owned by the wealthy family known as the Reece's.

Why they had moved was one thing however that Erica was not too sure about. All she knew was that the realtor told her and her husband Joshua on the day of their walk through that only a year or so earlier that something tragic happened to the Reece's oldest daughter and they left town. Instantly the family then contacted the realty company wanting to sell the family home. This house had been in their family for centuries but the loss of Samantha was too much for the family to bear so they left during the middle of the night.

They never returned to collect their belongings either, so when the Clemens family came to look at the old Victorian house it was fully furnished with expensive furniture. This only made the deal an even bigger steal which made Erica and Joshua a bit skeptical to the reason the family left so suddenly. They never knew what exactly they are or would eventually find but it will be a nightmare they will never forget...

Chapter One:

"Well honey it was a great price but the outside is in need of some restoration," said Joshua to Erica. "I know it dear but look at how big of a back yard we now own for Katie to play in," They both looked in the yard together watching their precious young Katie playing with her dolls on her new swing set. Every now and then they heard her talking not like she would when she would talk to her dolls or for her dolls. She seemed to be having an actual conversation with someone.

Erica looked out to see if a neighbor child may have come up to play or something. However she couldn't see anyone except Katie and what looked like a hazy figure floating along the ground. With the heat of the day it could possibly an underground well causing the unusual sight that Erica would see only a few times while Katie continued to play and run around the back yard.

When it came to lunch time Joshua Clemens came to the back door of the huge house and called out for Katie. He noticed that it was as if Katie was arguing with someone that's when he heard her say, "No I can't talk to you now I have to go in now for my lunch. I promise to come back outside once I've finished and talk to you some more. Please don't be mad at me." She passed him and smiled her innocent smile then said, "Daddy I've found a new friend and she wants me to come outside to play with her again once I'm done with my lunch. Is that ok, I told her I would?"

He then smiled at her and told her that of course she could play with her new imaginary friend all she wanted. Katie then looked at her daddy with a confused look upon her face, "No daddy she's not imaginary she's standing over there by my trampoline where the wildflowers are growing. Don't you see her? I can see her she's really pretty and nice. Her name is Sam or at least that was what she told me to call her."

Hearing the name brought back something that Joshua couldn't quite remember now. Why did the name Sam bring back a memory? They didn't know anybody by that name or have never met anyone by that name either. That is when he went to find his wife Erica who was in the master bedroom of the house putting all of their personal things into their place. "Honey do we know anyone by the name of Sam," he looked at his wife with confusion written all over his face.
