The Train

You awoke to a sound of metal on metal, grating against your eardrums. A soft "clop clop... clop clop" echoing off of itself the longer you listened. This wasn't right. The only train tracks were miles away from Pittsburgh. Far beyond anywhere you've ever driven by yourself, and yet, the noise was deafening next to your ears. A few soft bumps and jolts rattled your legs as you struggled to make out where you were. Your eyesight was out of the question, having realized that a thick piece of cloth had been tied around your head. The reality of the situation hit. You left your door unlocked last night.

"Enjoying the ride, darling? I find it soothing..."

A thick voice chimed in from your left, causing your worst fear to be validated. You were kidnapped. That much was obvious. Why? By who? How were you supposed to get out of this? Thoughts flooded to your mind as you stared blankly into the fabric blinding you, soaking in the few tears your tired eyes managed to create. Your shoulders ached, feeling strained in places they shouldn't. Your ankles burned. Attempting to separate them only caused friction, deepening the tighten of the knot that held them together. This was a dream. It had to be. That's why you stayed so calm. You'll wake up from all of this soon. A lucid dream can only last for so long.
