As soon as the pair of males heard the voice drift from the other room, their heads snapped in the direction in which it came from, and Jack proceeded to let go of Alex before skipping off in the other direction. Alex took a minute to compose himself, before sluggishly trailing after him, his body cringing in pain with every step that he took.
The minute the girl laid eyes on Alex for the second time that night, there was a glimmer of curiosity and confusion within them. “I remember you! You were at the party.” The corners of her mouth pulled up into a crooked smile, before turning to face Jack. “You.” She snarled, the once happy tone in her voice quickly fading into nothing short of fury.
“Why did you bring me here?” She asked, folding her arms across her chest.
Jack simply shrugged, “It’s your new home!” He exclaimed.
The girl rolled her eyes, “Haha, very funny. Well, I’m gonna be heading out now.” She stated, before getting up to her feet, but it wasn’t long until she was forced back down into her seat by Jack.
“Alex, grab me my handcuffs.” He grumbled.
The elder nodded before limping over to Jack's bedroom, before returning and handing the pair of silver loops to his partner, watching as he clasped one of the cuffs around the girls wrist, and the other on the arm of the chair.
“Now, you’re going to answer everything I question you, and you’re gonna do everything I say, you got it?”
The girl burst into laughter, which had never happened with previous victims. It almost shocked Jack. ‘’What?!’’ She snorted. ‘’Get me out of these cuffs, now.’’
Jack’s face screwed up in disgust. ‘’Not gonna happen,’’ He shook his head. Both him and Alex had never really had such a rebellious prisoner before. Well, they never really had a prisoner before, they killed almost as soon as their victims came home with them.
Alex himself, however, stood in the furthest corner of the kitchen, away from Jack and the girl, his arms folded and looking like he was trying his hardest to avoid any conversation with the two.
‘’Listen here you dick,’’ the girl spat, shaking her handcuffs in Jack’s direction. ‘’Let me out of these fuckin’ cuffs or I’ll-’’
‘’You’ll what?’’ Jack smirked. ‘’Call the cops?’’
‘’What about him!’’ She yelled, now shaking her cuffs towards Alex. ‘’Help me out here? What’s going on?!'' She sighed. ''Why do I always go for the crazy ones?’’ She mumbled a question to herself.
Jack let out a breathy chuckle, shaking his head. “Alex has no use. There’s nothing he can do to help you. Now, care to tell me your name?”
The girl narrowed her eyes and tilted her head off to the side, “Why should I tell you?” She snapped.
Jack lunged forward, suddenly having enough of the girl’s attitude. He grabbed her chin harshly and held it so that she was staring dead into his eyes.
“I’m going to say it again. Tell me your name.” He commanded.
After her eyes grew wide in fear, a moment of silence hung in the air, before she found the urge to reply.
“M-My name is J-Jamie.” She sputtered shakily.
Jack let go of her and stood back up, taking a few steps back with a smirk on his face. “Good girl.”
Alex felt his heart burst when he noticed that tears were now forming in the girl’s eyes, her body shaking.
“Alex, go fetch her some food and water.” Jack commanded, watching as the elder disappeared back into the kitchen after a minute of thought.
He was nervous to leave the girl alone with Jack, since he knew that the male couldn’t control himself when he had someone as nervous and vulnerable in front of him. It became instinct - when he saw someone in that condition, it gave him the urge to kill.
‘’Here,’’ Alex said, giving Jack the ready-made sandwich he’d found in the fridge, which made it obvious to Alex that the younger had prepared for the arrival of a new target.
Before Alex had the chance to walk away, Jack had whispered ‘lock the door’ in his ear. Alex nodded, leaving the room to do exactly that.
‘’I’m going to uncuff you,’’ Jack said.
‘’Oh, how lovely would that be,’’ The girl muttered, interrupting her quiet sobbing. Funny, Jack thought. Even when in the presence of a serial killer, this girl still has the guts to run her little sarcastic mouth off.
Before Jack leaned forward to set the girl’s arms free, he shot her a sour glare. ‘’Don’t think for a moment that I will not cut your fucking face off. Just because you think you have something special with Alex, does not mean he can do anything to stop me. You understand?’’
“I’m not exactly deaf.” Jamie pointed out.
Jack let out an annoyed sigh and grabbed the key for the handcuffs from his pocket before setting her free. He shoved the plate of food onto her lap.
“Eat.” He commanded, leaning against the doorframe with his arms folded across his chest as he kept his eyes on her.
Jamie tilted her head down to make it look like she was looking down at her food, but instead she was looking through her eyelashes for an escape route - one that she would be able to take without Jack catching her.
“Um, I need to use the bathroom.” She stated, sheepishly, trying to sound convincing through her lie.
Jack rolled his eyes, “You think I haven’t seen movies? That is the most cliché way of trying to escape ever. Not happening, sweetie.”
Jamie mentally cursed herself before lifting the sandwich and staring at it for another moment, before back up to Jack, who seemed to be spacing out. She smirked slightly before taking aim, before launching the sandwich towards his face.
It took a minute for Jack to process what was happening, but he was too late. Jamie was already sprinting down and around the house in search for some other escape, after trying the front door, which was obviously locked. Her next and only other option was to try to climb through a window. Her actions became more desperate when she heard the heavy footsteps of her captor behind her.
‘’Fuck, fuck, fuck,’’ Jamie cursed, out of breath.
At the end of the hall, she finally spotted a window. Darting towards it, she swiftly unlocked it and maneuvered her body so that it was on the sill, trying to push her way out of it when she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist.
“You’re not going anywhere.” Jack hissed in her ear, yanking her back until she was fully back inside. He slammed the window closed with such force it might as well shake the whole house.
Alex, who had witnessed the whole thing, stood at the end of the hall with his jaw open wide. “Jack, let her go.” He commanded.
For once, the younger listened and unwrapped his arms from around Jamie, who, much to both of the males' surprise, ran over to Alex and promptly threw her arms around him, sobbing into his chest.
Alex wanted to throw up at the touch, but, surprisingly, it wasn’t as bad as it would be if he was touching anyone else. Instead of shoving her to the ground, he embraced the hug.
‘’It’s okay,’’ He whispered.
