Viper Strike blinked up to see stars swirling around her. She gasped, fully roused now. "Am I dead..?" She asked aloud.
"No." meowed a soft voice. She turned to who spoke to her. The ginger tabby blinked. "Who are you? What's going on? Where am I?" She asked the cat. It was a light brown cat. Their eyes were a bright blue. And their pelt had stars in it, and everything behind them showed through them.
"I am Eagle Claw. You are in the place where the ancestors come for rest and good hunting. I have summoned you here Viper Strike. And for the same reason your brother's here once again." He flicked his brown tail the black and white pawed tom walking beside Rustling Leaves.
"You two shall be capable of a thing unlike any other." The tom meowed.
"Yes. We, the ancestors have spoken and it will be so. You must divide." Rustling Leaves told them.
Wolf Fur and Viper Strike both exchange a look of worry. Wolf Fur lifted his head. "But what about our kin? How can we leave them?" He asked.
"Leaving lives behind isn't easy. But it must happen." Eagle Claw meowed firmly but gently. "And what about father? He only has us! To leave him would be cruel!" Viper Strike argued. "But you cannot deter from the will of what we tell you. A new age awaits." Rustling Leaves and Eagle Claw meow at the same time.
The two littermates woke with a start. Wolf Fur looked at Viper Strike. "What are we going to do?" She asked him. The bright gray eyed tom bowed his head, his eyes on his paws. "I don't know." He meowed in reply and confusion. "But the real question is what do we tell our groupmates? Our dad?" She asked him. Wolf Fur looked at her. "I don't know. I just don't know." He replied.
"Do you really believe what Rustling Leaves and Eagle Claw said? That we have to do what we tell them?" Viper Strike asked her brother.
"But are we really going to turn and flee like mice from destiny? That's what's troubling me. We're so young, but we're so special." Wolf Fur mewed.
"You're right. I'm just scared.. what if we lose dad too? What if I loose you?" Worry clouded her green gaze. Her brother brushed his tail against her. "There's no way you can loose me. If we escaped wolves once, that means we can survive anything." He meowed reassuringly. She smiled, cheered up. "Thanks Wolf Fur." The ginger tabby looked around. Something stirred her belly and made her claws curl and release the grass beneath her paws. Fish Scar set on the rock, watching the group below. Violet Leaf walked over to join them exhausted. "Am I tired! I just had to bring moss too and from the mossy glade with Grass Shadow." She meowed.
"We've had to that. Hurts your paws like thorns." Wolf Fur commented.
"I don't see why the older cats can't do it. All they do is hunt and sleep." The black and ginger she-cat mumbled batting at a stone. The two purred in amusement. If the two siblings were to be able to do as the ancestors said, they'd have to do it well but be careful while doing it. Who knows what will happen. Only the ancestors. But could they really do it?
