I don't Believe In Monsters

Chapter 18

Damon's POV

"What happened Damon? We need to know so that it doesn't happen again."  Alaric says.

"I'll tell you, I just, I need blood." I groan as I reach for the back of my head. Also realizing that its not going to heal without blood. 

Elena holds her wrist out. "Are you crazy? Do you really think that I am going to drink from you? I will, hurt you." I say. 

"He can't drink from you Elena. You're a wolf, it's almost like getting bit." Haley says.

"I'll just go, eat a bunny or something I'm fine." I say. Rebekah walks in with a glass of blood. "Drink up, I wanna know what happened." Rebekah says bossily.

I snatch the glass from her hand and glare at her. She winks and walks to stand next to Elijah.

I bring the glass to my mouth and I start chugging the blood. When I feel the bag of my head healing, I hand Rebekah the glass roughly and say, "Here's a peace offering." And I walk up the stairs.

When I get upstairs I go to the living room and slam down onto the couch. Everyone follows behind me. First Elena, who sits next to me as I wrap my arm around and kiss her for head. Then ric comes and sits next to Elena. Then Klaus, Elijah, and finally Rebekah. Haley sits on the chair with Hope in her arms. The couch isn't exactly small.

"What happened Damon?" Haley asks.

"I was in the basement, comforting Elena. Until she got up quickly and started throwing up blood. I ran after her calling for Haley to come help. Which she didn't. I thought it was just a side effect of the curse. But then a knife went through her back and she, she was dead. I could not hear anything, it was like, almost like, like hell. Nobody could hear me yell or Elena shriek." I say staring into space.

¨Do you have any idea what or why this took place?¨ Elijah asks in a fancy word play.

¨Actually. I do, thatś the bad part. I wish I didn't, Its Katherine. Shes back. And sheś not going down without a fight.¨ I say, staring quietly into the same endless place I was before.

¨Wait, Katherine as in Peirce? You have got to be joking? Please?¨ Elena asks with her voice shaking. That makes me wish to God that that wasn't the worst part.

¨Elena. Shes linked to you. Everything that happens to her, happens to you. She can't die." I say.

She doesn't answer. She just stares right at me in the eyes. She curls her lips and nods. She has tears ready to slide out, but she's not willing to let them go. 1 tear manages to slip. She still looks right at me. Her eyes switch to klaus's, and then elijahs, and rebekah's, haleys, and back to mine.

"Let me leave. Please. Let me die. I don't want to live anymore. I want to go. Kill me or let me kill myself. Please. You have to let me go. Please." She sobs.

Did she just say that? She wants to kill herself. She wants to leave me...

I walk up to her slowly. "No, no you can't leave us, we love you very much Elena. I love you very much, Elena." I whisper.

Haley walks to put hope in her crib. She obviously comes back down.

Klaus stands up and walks to Elena.

"I need you in my lif-" Klaus gets stopped by a big shark tooth looking thing going through his chest. It blocks him off from doing anything and he falls to the ground. Elijah yells and rushes up to Katherine, but she pushes him across the room. She runs up to Haley and stabs her in the head with a knife. Everyone is now freaking out and in alert.

"HALEY!" Elijah yells across the room.

"Don't you EVER touch the people I care about!" Rebekah screams pouncing onto katherine. You know, before Katherine throws an 100 cut star at Rebekah causing her to fall to the ground.

Elijah charges straight towards Katherine and when he gets close enough she stakes him with a regular stake. Veins cover his face before he tumbles over.

"Seriously?! How are you stronger than an Original?!" I yell.

"I've gotta witch on my side. I told you . Now, Damon, Elena and Alaric you're coming with me." Katherine says.

Outside of the living room we can hear a baby crying.

I step in front of Elena.

"You're not taking her." I say protectively.

Katherine sighs, rolls her eyes and then cracks her neck. She runs up to us, pushes me away and starts feeding on Elena. She sucking the life out of her. I run up to her and try to snap her neck but then she says, "Hey, whatever happens to me, happens to Elena. So I suggest you let her come with us."

I jerk my hand off of Katherine's and groan. I pull Elena away from  Katherine and lift her into my arms. I bite my wrist and put it to her mouth.

Time Skip in the car

I hold Elena on my lap as she's curled up into a little ball. Rick is on the other side of me looking out of the window.

"Where are we going?" Elena asks wearily.

"Wickery Bridge. Thought we could go for a change of scenery. You know??" Katherine says. Elena squeezes her eyes shut.

"You can't do that Katherine. Please somewhere else? It's literally the least you can do." Alaric says.

"Nah I'm ok." Katherine says smiling. I roll my eyes. I wrap my arm around Elenas waist and pull her close.

We finally pull onto Wickery Bridge and Katherine hops out of the car like she's having the best day of her life.

She opens the door on the left where Elena is mostly. She drags Elena off of my lap into her arms. Rick and I jump out of the car after her.

"Katherine don't do anything stupid!" I yell. Katherine smirks and rolls her eyes. She picks up Elena and puts her over her shoulder and carries over to the edge of the the bridge.

"K-Katherine, you'll die, remember, only death effects you." I stutter. She repositions Elena in her hands to where she is only holding on by her hands over the side of the bridge.

"Oops..." Katherine says not taking her eyes off of me as she drops Elena off the edge of the bridge.

"ELENA!" I yell running to the side of the bridge, and looking down to see nothing.

"WHERE IS SHE KATHERINE?" Alaric yells as he and I turn around. We see Stefan holding Elena's arm tightly.
