April 15
Sam Abbott pov
"sam... Sam... SAM!" Sandra yells.
With hearing her familiar voice, I open my eyes and sit up quickly.
"Wha-?" I suddenly headbutt her. Sandra fell back onto the bed. "AHHH! SAM!" She said. I hold my head.
"Awwe Sandra,... Fuck..." I rub my eyes, just being woken up form a horrific zombie dream, "... I think I just saw stars..."
"Well SORRY! It's not my fault you weren't waking up! Now come on! Dad called us down 5 minutes ago!" Sandra says, getting off my bed. "Jeez, you have such a hard head." Sandra leaves my room, rubbing her forehead.
I pull away my covers, and sit on the edge of the bed. What kind of dream was that?... I stand up and start to head downstairs. Zombie dreams don't usually faze me like this... Why is this dream so special? I pause at the stairs. And why didn't I wake up? I always wake up? I shake my head, trying to calm myself down. It was just a dream... Calm down Sam... I start to head down the stairs.
As I reach the bottom step, I turn the corner, and start my way into the kitchen. As I rub my eyes one more time, I run into an object. "Woop!" I look down, and open my eyes. I see a pair of large feet in front of me. I look up, and see my dad, holding some Tim Horton's timbits in his hand. "Sorry Dad.." I say, as I back away.
"It's okay." He hands me the box of timbits. "Happy Birthday."
"Thank you." I take them, and head for the living room couch. That's right, I'm turning 17 today... Time flies I suppose.
"Sam!" I turn around. "Did you see your brother come down?"
"Nope. Sorry." I reply, as I go into the living room.
"Dammit..." he says, under his breath. I sit down on the cold, leathery couch, as I hear dad start to bang on the wall, and yell for my brother to wake up. "SAMUEL! TIME TO GET UUPP!!!" dad screams. I hear a faint agitated, "OKAY!" coming from upstairs. Samuel always needs yelled at twice to get up. It's almost routine for my dad.
I open up the box of 20 piece doughnuts, and proceed to eat them. I figured my sister would have gotten the same thing, which she did.
Every morning, there is a routine we all go through. At least during school days we do. We wake up at 6:00 am, and my siblings and I eat breakfast, while dad makes our lunch. We then get dressed, brush our hair and teeth, then do whatever else we need to do, while dad watches for the bus. This happens everyday, for five days a week, for the entire school year. And we've been doing this, for about 7 years now. Crazy.
As I finish up brushing my teeth, I throw on a very light pink jacket, and start to the door. "I'll meet you guys outside! Bye Dad!"
"Bye Sam! Have a good day! Love you!" Dad yells from the other room.
