Warriors- Flood Water

Chapter Thirteen

Viperstar and Stormstar were still perched up in the tree talking. Stormstar called her clan together and spoke, "All cats need to scavenge the island for a place to sleep, this den will be where you sleep for the rest of your time here, so make your choices wisely. Rockpaw gathered her siblings quickly and dashed off towards a line of bushes. "We have to make sure a Riverclan cat hasn't already made this their den." Tanglepaw meowed to her siblings. Pushing her way through the thick leaves and pokey sticks, Rockpaw knew no cat would be sleeping in her. "Everybody go to the middle, we'll push the branches towards the sides." The three did just that, pushing the branches out making a small clearing in the middle. "I'll grab some of the sticks and leaves and put more on top." Meowed Toadpaw as he slipped out and folded more bush on top. Their den was almost perfect, Rockpaw ran out and gathered the freshest and driest moss from the roots of the tree. Rockpaw began to lay down a layer of moss and leaves. Once the den was done the three cats curled up together and drifted to sleep. Just as the three began to sleep, the den started rustling. Rockpaw poked her head out the den as Cloudkit pounced on her nose. Rockpaw shook him off and padded out the den. "What are you all doing out here?" Rockpaw meowed to the kits. Cloudkit pounced on Rockpaws feet as Flashkit and Shinekit patted at her swishing tail. Splashkit jumped up and tried to get her head but managed to just barely hold onto her chest. Rockpaw pushed Cloudkit of her paw and Splashkit slid to the ground. Shinekit and Flashkit plopped to the floor as Rockpaw swished her tail up out of reach. "What are you all doing?" She meowed. "We don't have anywhere to sleep." Meowed Shinekit as the swatted a leaf off the ground. "Mama told us to check over here for a place to sleep." Meowed Flashkit as Shinekit jumped up after the leaf. Rockpaw gazed over the clearing to see Owlheart poking around bushes with cats in them. Rockpaw looked back and the line of bushes. Diving back inside she woke her brother and sister and told the to make more room and push more of the bush out on the opposite end. "What are we doing?" Asked Tanglepaw, drowsily. "Go back to sleep." Meowed Rockpaw as she rushed back out and grabbed more moss. She laid it down and called Owlheart over. "Our den has enough room for you and your kits." She meowed. "Oh, Rockpaw! Thank you so much. C'mon kits, get in. It's chilly out here." Owlheart herded her kits in the den. Rockpaw followed after her. "Rockpaw whats going on?" Toadpaw meowed as Owlheart settled her kits down. "Owlheart and her kits are staying with us in here."
