Diner Blues
1st Pov. Amalla
I stride into the parking lot slowly and park my motorcycle. I stood with my helmet still on, and I glanced around the small parking lot. My hands lift to my helmet, taking a glimpse towards the diner.
I lay my black gloves on the seat; letting my dark eyes wander over the outside of the small building before stepping in through one of the opened doors.
A woman stands behind a counter and one single customer glance to me, a man appearing in the back as I entered. My brown hair with a soft blonde ombre blew softly with the slight breeze from a fan as I sat up at the large counter.I gave the female server a light smile as she stepped in front of me at the counter.
"Can I help you?" She asks, and I glance at the menu ahead of me."Just the special." I reply and slide off my plain grey flannel. I lay it across my lap as my white halter top was shown, mostly backless with the front fully covering from my collarbone to my last rib. My tattoos showed easily as I leaned my elbows on the counter. My right shoulder showcase one of my floral tattoos, the second one a small zodiac sign on my inside left wrist, a third one on my left rib side, and my last one on my right hip.
I scan around the diner as I pause at the man behind a screen in the back. He stared down at paperwork as he drank a bottle of Corona.
"Here you go." The woman says, and I hear footsteps increase behind me. She sets down the plate and moves over to the other customer at the counter.
"Tuna?" She says, and the person smiles and sighs.
"Yeah." He speaks as I turn to look at him fully. I sigh quietly and turn back to my sandwich. I kept my eyes forward as I hoped he didn't see me."Hey, Mall." The customer says quietly, as I only glance at him.
"Hey, Bri." I reply and say his brotherly name. He glances at me and smiles, I shake my head slightly.
"Nope. You're still not forgiven." I continue quietly and move a little in my seat.
"But, why.."
"Here's your order." The waitress says to him, and I look away.
I focus on my sandwich, taking one bite to distract myself. My eyes land once again on the man behind the screen. He was built muscularly, his head bald, and somewhat tall. I stare at him a little longer and look back towards the front entrance of the diner.
3rd Pov. Amalla
Four people walk in loudly, as Amalla looks back. The muscular man glimpsing at her from the screen and checks her out. He turns back quickly as she turns back to her plate.
Amalla wipes her mouth with a napkin and stands softly. Bri, Brian, stares at her as she lays down some cash, leaving a small side pile as a tip.
Amalla turns and begins to walk towards the door, her eyes glancing at the four other customers.
"Dom, you wanna drink?" A short woman who entered with the group asks. Amalla glanced back to see the muscular man raise his beer. She moves to look forward, and the man's eyes connect the hers. She looks down slightly and walks out of the doors.
Amalla stands in front of her motorcycle as she tries to start it.
"Shit." She groans and lifts up her seat to get some tools. She glances back as she squats in front of her bike's engine. Brian was walking to his truck, as a different man followed him.
"Come back, pointdexter." The man yells behind him.
"Anyway. Did you know that chick? She had a nice piece of ass." The man says, and Brian grabs his shirt and shoves him against his red truck.Amalla hears the crash and stands up. She glances back at Brian and sees him delivering punches to the other guys face.
"Goddamn it." She growls to herself and walk towards them.
"Stop it, yo--!!" Amalla falls to the ground as the other guy knicks her face in his hit towards Brian.
Brian tackles the guy and punches him harder than ever. Amalla holds her left hand to her left cheek as she gains her sense back. She stood and pushed them apart quickly. The guy is going in for another punch again, her body reacting this time. Her right foot kicks back to his face, the dark-haired man's face slamming against a red truck from the force.
"Now get out of here, you dumbass." Amalla says to Brian, her brother, as he tries to touch her cheek.
"What's going on?" The muscular man named Dom, says to them. He walks up to the guy on the ground and helps him up.
"What's your name?" He asks, and Brian speaks.
"Brian Spillner." He says, and Dom looks to Amalla."Amalla. O'Conner." She replies as he stares at her cheek. A bruise beginning to appear as her hair covered most is it.
"Just go." The man says, and Brian glances at her. He climbs into his red truck. She walks to her bike and grabs her tools again. She twists a few bolts and slides her tools under her seat. Amalla climbs on her bike and begins to slide on her helmet.
"Amalla?" A deep voice speaks behind her, and she looks up at the face, lowering her helmet into her lap.
"Yeah?" She asks, as Dom stares at her cheek. He holds a bag of ice, and she takes it slowly.
"Thanks." She mutters and slowly touches the ice to her face. She flinches in pain and pushes it on her cheek.
"Sorry for his dumbass." He says, and Amalla smirks.
"I'm used to it. I had a brother, and we always fought." She responds and grabs her helmet."Come here. 10 o'clock." Dom adds and hands her a card. She grabs it and slides it in her pocket.
She tosses him the bag of ice and slips on her helmet, also putting on her flannel again.
Amalla looks at Dom and smiles, sliding on her helmet cover and revs her motorcycle. She turns and shoots off onto the road. She speeds towards her apartment as she passes Brian's truck on the street.
Amalla pushes forward on her bike and puts on the brake. Her bike was skidding on its front wheel as the second was in the air. She hears horns behind her as she sits the bike back on the ground. She pulls it next to Brian's truck and parks it.
She raises to a stand as she grabs her keys and walks towards the auto building. Her helmet kept her face covered as she walked in.
"Um, you need to take off your helmet. It's company policy." A man says, and she turned her head at him. He stared nervously at her as another man walked up to her.
"Please don't mind him. He's new. Follow me, please." The second man says, and Amalla follows him. She walks through a door, and he closes it.
"Sorry about that." He said, and she stood in silence.
"He's in there. Your brother is out on the floor." The man says, and Amalla gives him a nod with her head. Her helmet covered her face as he leaves and Amalla sat down at the table there.
"Thanks for meeting me." A British woman speaks, and Amalla gives her a nod.
"I see you still keep your looks. My sons- Oh, how long has it been since you've seen Dec-."
"7 or so years, get on track." Amalla speaks up, her voice slightly muffled from her helmet.
"Still a soft spot? I'll let him know." Amalla rolls her eyes and keeps calm as the woman speaks again."I'm just checking up on you, darling. It's been years, and my boys certainly still miss you." Amalla shakes her head and stands.
"Well, everything is in order then.Godd day, have a safe travel back." Amalla speaks, and she stands.
"Tell him I said Happy Birthday, or rather belated." She stops her steps and gives a nod back to the woman and exits the office. She walks out casually as she passes the front desk. Quickly walking outside and climbing onto her bike. She shoots through traffic as she goes to her apartment.[A.N.: This was originally on quotev, but I've fixed and added to it.
