~Christine's POV~
Walking to school is just what anyone expects. The fresh air, the cool breeze, the lovely morning walk.....THE RAIN!! THE COLD BREEZE!!
Didn't exactly turn out to be a walk to the park. More like a game between life and death which by the way, strangely reminds me of a game of truth or dare. Urgh!
Well, every dark and gloomy cloud has silver lining right? Hey, at least I managed to stay dry from the sudden downpour. My day isn't that bad.
As soon as that thought came, a car sped right past me and sprayed the water from a puddle all over me. Ahh...spoke too soon.
And as things just couldn't possibly get worse, a bonechilling breeze came. Cold, cold, cold!
"Hey, you okay?" I felt a warm hand touch my shoulder. "sorry bout spraying water all over you, I didn't mean it."
I turned to look at him to say that everything was 'okay' but those words never came out of my mouth. This guy was a hottie. Stop it! I mentally slapped myself. You have bigger things to worry about. You're going to be late for school and you're soaking wet.
But I just couldn't take my eyes of him. If I had to describe him in one word, it would be 'indescribable'. I know, it's stupid.
I guess that he noticed that I was looking at him like a piece of meat because he kinda stepped away from me. Either that, or I was glaring at him. It happens. Most of the time, a stare would often turn out as a glare. Maybe that's why people always to avoided me!
"Nah it's okay," I managed "its not like it made a difference anyway. I mean, I was just walking in the rain." I started walking in the direction the school was located at. After some mental calculations, I deduced that if I start running now, I might be able to reach school 10 minutes late.
I rolled my shoulders back and prepared myself for the fatest sprint I have ever attempted.
5...4...3...2...1...and she takes off! Faster than the speed of light, she runs like how a eagle soars through the sky. Nothing can stop her now!
Suddenly, a hand grabbed my arm which made me fall backwards, losing my balance. In slow motion, as my body slowly inched onto the pavements, I physically turned my body around-like a cat-and made my body to do pushup.
Worst Mistake EVERRR!!! Upon impacts, my wrists bent backwards -surprise!- are hurting like hell. I should have just let myself land on my butt!
I shifted my weight off my hands and successfully got back on my feet. Upon inspection, I figured that I would be able to get through the day without anyone noticing the injury.
"Shit. I am so, so sorry about that. I did not mean any of that." The sudden reappearance of the hottie made me jump. "Sorry bout that."
"Geez....you sure are doing a lot of apologising today," I coolly managed as I pulled the sleeves of my grey chunky sweater over my bruised hands. I didn't want him to feel guilty about it. It's not his fault that the planets aren't aligned in the right order.
"It's because I somehow managed to ruin your day and we've only known each other for what....ten minutes?" hah. That's funny. "To make up for everything that has happen so far, let me give you a lift to school." He placed his hands on my shoulders and started directing me to his car.
"Look, I go to Edith Prep School and its not that far of a distance from here so I think I'm going to pass on your offer," was what I was going to say but he cut me off as soon as I mentioned the school.
