Nick rushed out the parlor, panicking to start the car. While, I had to carry 2 dozen macaroons. Thanks, Nick.
"Hurry up, Ashlie!" He gestured me in to the car.
"A little help, NICK?!" He stared at me for a few seconds. "I'M GONNA DROP DA MACAROONS!! HALP!!"
He finally got out of the car, opening the trunk, then, walking to me and grabbing a dozen.
"Thank you." I sighed, walking to the trunk to put the pastries in. Nick, seeing I was I the car now, pressed the trunk button. My eyes followed as the trunk slowly closed and clicked into place.
The car shook and rumbled as it started. I pointed victoriously at the windshield. "Onwards and forwards!"
We were off.
Tommy's POV:
Cory left me in the bathroom, alone, and a ghost. Purgatory sucks! My voice was echoey, weary, and a little bit childish.
A few minutes later,(about 5 to be exact) Ashlie, then, Cory, and then, N-nick?? They all came in to see me, well, to see my lifeless corpse, really. But, Nick left his date to help me?
Then, a doctor came in, he was the kind of doctor that would come to your house, like in the olden days.
"I can't believe they still have home doctors," Ashlie was just as shocked as I was. "How convenient!"
The doctor did a slow turn to Ashlie, he looked very sternly angry, sketchy. "Yes..I'd say it's very convenient, indeed. Before I start, you may all say something, perhaps what he is to you.."
Cory walked up first, looking down at me. He bent down, on one knee, resting his forearms on the other, like I was his kid.
"Tom- I mean, Tommy, you're on of my closest friend, you've been around for so long. I'd hate to see you go. I won't cry, for you. Shred on, Thomas, shred on." Cory was holding back his tears.
Next, was Ashlie, she bent down, too, but she had both knees on the floor, her hands on her top knees. "Tommy, you were like the big brother I always wanted. I'm sorry for what I did to you. I did this to you, I know, it's all my fault, and I'm sorry. Shred on." Ashlie was crying, sobbing quietly, getting back on her feet and stepping back to the doorway.
Lastly, was Nick, he was crying already, I've never seen him cry before; and he was crying over me. "Tommy. I'm sorry. I know there's nothing I can do, but feel-I know it's my fault, too. I just wanted to say that, I never felt right going on a date with Ashlie." He quickly turned to Ashlie. "No offense, Ashlie."
"Oh, none taken." Ashlie assured Nick.
"And I was just trying to be nice, and get some food, because I was starving! And, I'll never get the chance to tell you that...I love you. I always have." Tears were pouring out of Nick. If I wasn't in purgatory, I cry to.
Nick stepped back to the doorway with everyone else.
"How touching." The doctor pushed up his glasses to meet his eyes. "Now, if I may do my job, I'll figure out what's wrong."
The doctor walked over to my body, crouched down and strapped on his gloves. "Very interesting." The doctor examined my face first. "This is merely impossible!"
"What is it?" Cory held his hands.
"It seems your friend has had a mere possession. But it failed before it could take over the whole brain."
"What?!" Nick snapped in shock. "How is that possible?!"
"Well, demons usually go for weak people. People who can't fight for themselves. But I'm just a doctor, what do I know?" The doctor started to walk away. "I'm calling an ambulance, that gash must be stitched up. He's bleeding out!"
"What?!" all three of them turned their heads swiftly to me. "Tommy?!"
I wanted to apologize, say that I'm okay, bring some reassurance to the table, but all I could do was watch.
