This photo is of me and my best friend (who is supposed to be Jennifer) and is dedicated to her @meenatheprincess

"Okay mom! I'm fine! Really! Stop already. I'll see you on holidays and I'll try to come to some dinners a few times a month."
I pretend I am annoyed, but I am really scared. I don't want to leave my mother's comforting embrace.
"It's just... I have been there 19 years now you're just going away!! Poof! Gone! As a mother you are supposed to be prepared for this kind of stuff..."
My mom starts to ramble on and I stop her before she can keep going.
"Mom! I'll will be fine! I promise." Even I am surprised at the harshness of my voice. She starts to tear up and I feel my checks redden.
"Mom...I'm sorry... But could you not cry right now? They are right there!"
I turn torward Annabelle and Jennifer and smile weakly.
"I swear guys we will leave in one second." I nod reassuring and look at my mom pleading for her to let me go.
"Oh! Its okay Zoey! Take your time. Your mom is awesome and this can be hard." Jennifer looks at my mom and smiles her award winning smile.
What a suck up! Jenn always says just the thing to get her to love her. Anna stays silent, always frightened to say the wrong thing.
"Why thank you Jennifer! Always so kind!" My mom smiles and slightly nods her head no. Her brown hair escaping her ponytail. I've always been envious of my mother's looks. Frazzled and still gorgeous.
"Okay, mom, we are going I'll text you when we get there. Okay?" I feel my eyes start to burn and I blink back tears. I pick up the last box from my yard and push it into our mid sized Toyota we managed to scrape enough money to buy. We named him Buddy.
In the trunk there are 9 boxes total.
Only 3 are Anna's and 6 have Jenn's name plastered on it with different colors. The fashion queen, she is. I only have 4 boxes of my own and put 2 in the back where Anna is sitting, and 2 in the trunk with the rest of boxes.
"I'm driving. Pass the keys Zoey." Jennifer smiles sweetly and holds her hand out.
"Uh, no. This is the last stop before the apartment and I call driving."
I try to imitate her sweet smile and struggle to.
"Not fair! My hair is perfect today and I deserve and extra turn to drive!"
She pushes her dirty blonde hair back and I realize she wasn't lying. Her hair really was flawless. Her curls the perfect bounce and no frizz. I put the keys in her hand and mope around to the other side of Buddy. At least I'm not sitting in the back. I turn around to look at my mom and wave. I smile awkwardly and climb into the car.
When all doors are closed Annabelle speaks up for the first time.
"Woo! Free at last! After 7 years are dream is finally coming true!"
Annabelle looks down embarrassed by her outbursts. Jennifer and I giggle and she turns the key into the ignition, and off we were, to our new life.
