*alarm goes off*
Woke up, felt good. I put on my shorts and shirt then went to wash my face. Today was a big day! Finally trying out for football. All the months of eating good, working out, and training. Felt good to even wake up.
My phone rang and Chase was calling, so I picked it up while brushing my teeth.
"Hey Chase" i said.
"Ready for today? Tryouts man," Chase replied
"Mhm" I said while brushing my teeth
"Pick me up in 10 minutes?"
"Yeah" said Chase as he hanged up.
Put on my shoes, and headed out. I waited for Chase to arrive. Today was super warm out, with just a tiny cool breeze. Who knows if I'll make the team? If not, I'll just go for wrestling with Chase.
I watched as he pulled in.
"Hey" I said as I got in.
"Yeah" said Chase.
We didn't talk much on the way there. We drove all the way there and I had on a big smile.

*whistle blows*
"Alright boys, I see you're all here today because you think you wanna be on the football team. Well! It takes speed, strength and technique. I'm sure you all are happy thinking you'll make it. We'll see by the end of the day. Get in line" said the coach.
We all stood in a big line. The coaches separated us by the positions. For running backs there were about five boys. My body sorta sinked because these boys looked stronger and faster. The coaches made us run 50 meters and timed us.
I ran it in 7 seconds, somewhat there. A coach looked impress and a coach had a straight face. Which there was a 50-50 chance. Then they made us do all shorts of drills, after one hour, everyone was sweating. We played a couple plays with everyone. When I had the ball I ran as fast as I can, going through everyone until I got my flag pulled.
There was one play where I had the ball, running to the right. I put all my speed and effort in it. Running down the field with wind and sweating running off my face. Felt great to hear that whistle blow, knowing I got a touch down! Oh I felt exhausted.
"Good run, now, what's your name son" one coach said,
"David.." I said panting and exhausted.
The coach made us all sit down on the ground, I sat next to Chase as we were exhausted. Everyone was breathing heavily waiting to hear what's next.

"Alright, most of you did good out there. Some did every good, some aren't even going to make the team. We will be sending letters out within a week to tell you if you made it or not." Said the coaches as they dismissed us.
"Hey Chase, you did really good." I said as I walked with him to the car.
"Are you kidding, did you see yourself out there, you went fully beast mode man. You'll make
it for sure" replied Chase
"Thanks, don't be so sure."
When I got home. I took a shower and relaxed on my bed for awhile. Today was a great day I felt great. I hope I make the team, I mean..I did do good.
