Making enemies

Anna's P.O.V.

"Daddy don't!" I screamed right before he threw the empty beer bottle at me. I barely dodged it. He started laughing as he grabbed my bleeding arm. He slapped me and I bit my lip so I didn't scream. He pinned me to the ground. His fist on my face barely registered as I passed out.

I woke up confronted by the smell of beer. My father sat in the corner with a beer.

"Pack your bags freak." He said. I glared at him. "It's your fault your mother is in hospital and I'm not going to put up with your staying out as long as you want at anytime. You're going to spend some time at Rodney's place."

"I'm not going." I said. His eyes flickered to life as he tossed his beer at me.

"You're going if I say you're going." He barked. He stood up and kicked me in the stomach where I lay on the ground. I cursed at him and he kicked me again.

"Pack your bags!" He shouted. I packed them up and made sure to bring a lighter and knife. Rodney was a 'friend' of my father's who had gotten arrested several times for rape and sexual assault. I was not going to stay at that man's house. My father was at least always drunk, so I guess in some way I could put up with him. But Rodney never drank, he did all of those things out of his own will.

"Hey, dickshit! I'm not going I'm moving in with my boyfriend!" I said. My father punched me.

"Fine, get pregnant at seventeen I don't care. Just get out of my house!" He screamed.

"Fine, I will!" I screamed. "And you won't ever see them."

"Good get out of my sight!" My father yelled as he tore me from the ground he pushed me forward. I grabbed my stuff and ran out of the house. I started walking towards Zack's house and didn't stop until I was right at the driveway. There was no way they would let me stay. I barely even noticed the rain. I was soaked but I continued to stare at their house. I turned to leave when Jackie ran out of the house.

"Hey, Anna what are you doing out here in the rain?" She said. She shivered in the rain. Then she looked at my face. "Are you crying? Your eyes are all red."

"I'm... I mean can I come in? I really need to talk to Zack." I said. Jackie gave me a worried smile.

"Yeah, come in. I'll give you some dry clothes, you look like we're the same size." She said. She put an arm around my shoulders and dragged me inside. Her mother was in the kitchen when we stepped inside. Her eyes widened when she saw how wet I was.

"Anna! How long have you been outside in that rain?" Her mother asked. I wiped at my eyes and forced a smile.

"I've been out since about 11." I said. She put her hands on her hips.

"Your father must be worried sick! You can use our phone." She said. I shook my head.

"He doesn't care. He kicked me out." I said.

"But what about your sisters?" She said.

"They're not real. I made them up. My dad is a freakin' abusive drunk. He put me and my mother in the hospital." I sobbed.

"Oh honey." Jackie's mom said and wrapped me in a hug. I hugged back and sobbed into her shoulder.

"Jackie, go get her some dry clothes." She said and I heard Jackie leave the room. When she pulled away she looked at me kindly.

"Why don't we get you in some dry clothes, give you something to eat, and then we'll see where you can sleep. Because you aren't going to the streets if I can help it." She smiled and Jackie handed me some dry clothes.

"I tried to avoid giving you a 1D shirt." She said. I smiled faintly and nodded.

"Thanks." I said, then I went to the bathroom and changed. I looked at the pitch black mini skirt, ripped fishnet tights, and had to ask Jackie to help me with the black corset she'd given me.

"Where did you get this stuff?" I asked. She smiled.

"They were mine. I used to be goth before Ben died. I just needed a change and became this prep bitch that I am now." She said.

"I think you would have looked hot goth." I told her.

"Anna, I defined hot as a goth." She flipped her hair and struck a pose. "I still do." I laughed.

"Yeah, that is true." I said. We stepped out and Jackie's mom's eyes saddened a little.

"You might want to get Zack. He's in his room with the radio playing." She told me. I nodded and went up the stairs to his room. I opened the door and saw he hadn't even noticed. I ran in and jumped on top of him where he lay on his bed.

"Anna?" He said.

"The one and only bitch." I said. Zack smiled and we got up. "So your mom said I'm staying here since my dad kicked me out."

"Okay." He said. "I smell pizza so my mom must have ordered some."

"Okay. Oh and my dad thinks I'm going to be pregnant at seventeen." I said.

"Yeah, well he's an idiot I know what condoms are and we haven't even been officially dating for a week so that won't be happening anytime soon." Zack said.

"You bet it won't, I pride myself on being a virgin." I said.

So zack's parents know about Anna's home life and have taken her under there wing. But when is Anna going to find out about the dark secret that jackie and zack have?
