The men behind our duplex, they are evil. They spit out venom and their words are poison. You can't sneak past with your back against the wall, because they are behind you. Somehow they hide in the shadows, their glowing eyes burn into your flesh. Your eyes burn from the smoke the breathe. Their clenched hands moved so fast to connect anywhere on your body and their feet are like knives. All you can do is curl up and cry. But you can call for help, you can save yourself. I call out and silence is the only thing I hear. The men would pause to see me struggle and continue. Now the only thing I hear is the sound of the cracking coming from my breaking bones and the painful wheezing and gasps that escape from my mouth.
