The train blew by as I stood next to the tracks, the wind nearly knocking me over in the process as I was so close to the moving locomotive. I stood there, staring straight as it continued on its way not knowing I was there. I stood there, with my mind racing, wondering what had just happened, why was I standing here, where was I planning on going. I could not answer any of these questions.
As the last train car past me, I was tossed forward due to a strong gust of wind from behind me, toppling over onto the rails. It took me a moment to realize that I was lying on the ground, but then I got up slowly and brushed the dirt off of myself. Looking back up from my pants, I watched the lights on the back of the train dim more and more, until I could no longer make them out.
I had no idea to what I was going to do now. When I arrived at these tracks, I had it set in my mind that I would not live to see another day, but here I stand, with no plan at all.
A tear rolled down my cheek as I whispered, "What am I to do?" The black sky that I looked up to had no answers for me, as well.
