"Here's your soup." I said walking back inside Ryan's cell and handing him the bowl.
"Thanks Riley." He said taking the soup from my hands
"Your welcome." I said turning around and sitting in the chair.
"OUCH HOT!" Ryan said taking a sip of his soup.
"Yeah um I think that's hot." I said sarcastically and smiling.
"No you don't say." He said adding a little head tilt and raised his one eyebrow.
"Here I'll go get you a table to set that on." I said standing up and walking down to Hershel's cell and grabbing a little fold out table and returning back to Ryan. "Here ya go."
"Thanks." Ryan said sitting the hot bowl onto the table after I unfolded.
"You feeling any better?" I asked sitting back down.
"A little I still can't believe you gave me two pints of blood." He said
"It's the least I could do and soon you will be strong enough to go on a run." I said
"I can't believe I'm saying this but I can't wait." Ryan said knowing that I knew he hated the runs.
"But don't rush yourself." I said putting my hand on his forehead."Well you don't have a fever no more and your not pale you finally got color back in your face which is a good sign."
"That's good."Ryan said taking my word.
"Riley...Riley come here please I need you for a moment."Rick said
"Be right back." I told Ryan and walked out side cell F to where Rick was standing."Yes whatcha need?"
"We need you and Daryl to go on a run for us...well more like a search..." Rick said acting funny
"Whats wrong what's going on?"I asked
"Come here."Rick said dragging me down the hall away from F"I couldn't let Glen hear us. But yesterday after Daryl and them came back two more groups when back out to look some more.Maggie,Bob,and Tyler. The other group was Machone a few others we brought in and Sasha, and Carol."
"Okay so why do you need me and Daryl?" I asked still not understanding
"Maggie's group didn't come back and when Machone and them did. They should have been back by now.We think something happened to them." Rick said
"So where do we come in?" I asked him
"We need you two to track and find them and help them out."He said
I looked at him still confused
"Daryl taught you to track so with the both of you being excellent with a gun,crossbow and tracking you guys should be able to find and bring them back. You guys will protect each other making a better chance of survival.Please we need you." Rick said finishing
"Fine does Daryl know?" I said
"No but he will go if you do because he wants to protect you...and if Ryan was better I would send him with you guys." He said
"Where were they going so we know where to look? And yeah it's gonna be hard getting away from Ryan he's gonna wanna go but we all know he can't." I said
"Okay see ya in a few." Rick said leaving the block.
I opened the heavy metal door walking into F. I tried to think of ways to tell Ryan as I walked toward his cell. Sadly his cell was close to where the door was so I didn't have a chance to think of anything.Well here we go I thought to myself before sucking in a deep breathe and releasing it as I walked inside. "Hey Ryan." I said uneasy and twiddling with my fingers.
"What's wrong I can tell when you have something to say in a situation like this. So what is it just tell me." He said defiantly sensing my tension.
"Listen Rick sent two more groups out after Daryl's group came back. And one group had Maggie...."I said dropping my voice so Glen wouldn't hear it. "Well the group Machone was in came back but Maggie's group didn't. So Rick is sending Daryl and I since we can track,shoot good, and protect each other better. He said you could have helped but your not strong enough and don't say you are because you and everyone else knows your not. But he said we need to track and bring them back." I said to Ryan
"Okay I understand just be careful and hurry back." Ryan said understanding my predicament.
"No promises."I said with a smile but he just gave me this look which seemed to say 'I'm not kidding' "Okay I'll try but I honestly can't promise that I will be fine or not get hurt it's not like I'm intentionally gonna get myself bite or anything."
"You know but just try." Ryan said
"Well I gotta go see ya when I get back." I said walking away.
"Bye." I heard him call after I left.
