I can hear the splashing sound that water makes when a shower is on as I unlock the front door and step inside my house, well more like mansion. "That's strange," I think to myself as I close the door behind me and pocket my key.

Cautiously I place one foot on the first step wondering if I should go investigate, then curiosity takes over and I continue up the rest of the stairs. I didn't think our maid, Charlotte was coming in today, and my parents are supposed to be away on some business trip, just like they always seem to be. They have a large business that does some stuff and they get a lot of money from it - hence the mansion and the maid - I don't really know what they do, I always tune out when they mention anything involving work.

Now you probably think I'm a spoiled little brat because I'm kinda rich, but I try not to let my wealth affect me. I mostly act like an ordinary teenager. I hang out with my friends, play sport, do normal stuff. In fact most of the people at my school don't even know that I'm rich. Which is good, I don't need or want all the fake friends that come from people knowing I'm rich, especially the ones that only want me for my money.

Snapping out of my thoughts I reach the top of the stairs. "Charlotte? Is that you?" I call out and wait for an answer. None comes. I can't help but think that if this were a horror movie I would be yelling at the person in the movie to shut up, because now the crazy person that wants to kill them knows that they're there. Ignoring all thoughts about horror movies I call out to Charlotte again.

After getting no reply again I walk along the hallway and stop outside my open bedroom door. Why? because I notice that the sound I can hear is indeed a shower, but it is also the shower in my personal bathroom. "Okay," I say aloud "even weirder."

As I walk into my room I see that the bathroom door is slightly ajar and steam is billowing out through the gap. Dumping my school bag on my bed I cautiously pull the bathroom door open. Scenes from every horror movie I've ever seen randomly leap about in my head again but I try to ignore them. I'm not about to be murdered, this isn't a horror movie... I think.

As I open the bathroom door wider I feel a blast of heat coming from the steam and a white cloud billows out into my face. All i can see as I walk into the bathroom is white but I blindly try to make my way to the shower, fumbling through the steam that obscures my vision.

But because I can't see what's in front of me, and because I'm super clumsy, I end up bashing my hip against the edge of the sink. If you've never bashed your hip on something before you are a very lucky person, because it hurts, a lot.

After recovering from my accident with the sink I finally find my way to the shower. As my hand reaches out to turn the shower off the small hairs on the back of my neck suddenly stand on end, and a shiver runs through my body. Even though I'm surround by the stifling hot steam.

Instantly i know somethings wrong, but it's too late, a large, masculine hand is already clamped over my mouth stopping me from making a sound, not that it would have helped if I did scream because there was no one else around to hear me. Desperately I lash out with my arm, hoping to catch the person by surprise, but with no such luck. My arms were now pinned behind my back, quite painfully might I add. I try everything I can to wriggle my arms free but the person attacking me holds them tightly.

I stop struggling and relax a little making my boding go limp, hoping that my attacker will think I'm giving up and will stop trying to get away.

And as I hope his grip does loosen ever so slightly. But thats all I need, I ram my heal backwards into what I think is the guys knee, hoping that he doesn't expect it. My kick must have landed because the grip on me loosens even more and I tug free.

The steam still clouds the room so I have no chance of seeing my attackers face. Reaching behind me I go to turn the shower off so I can see easier, but then I get a better idea. Grabbing the nozzle of the shower I turn the shower up as hot as it will go. As soon as I see the silhouette of my attacker emerge through the clouds of steam I aim the nozzle right at his face.

The loud curse words that follow tell me that I've hit my target with the boiling water, hopefully it got him in the face and temporarily blinded him allowing me time to get away. As quiet but as fast as I can I sneak around the spot where I last saw my attacker and make my way to the door. Only stopping once to avoid a replay of my earlier experiences with the sink. As soon as I am back in my bedroom I slam the bathroom door shut and jam a chair under the handle, like I'd seen people do in movies. It seemed to work for them.

Quickly I pull my phone out of my pocket fumbling with it, and almost dropping it, as I try to call the police. But suddenly a deep voice behind me whispers in my ear, his breath on my ear makes me shiver "You can't get rid of me that easily sweetheart."

Suddenly I feel a cloth being clamped over my mouth and my arms being pinned behind my back again, my phone slips out of my hand and falls to the ground. Then everything goes black.
