I had woken up to my mom yelling for me to get up and eat breakfast. All we normally have is either pop-tarts or cereal unless there's something we have to do, like go on a fairly long trip. After I ate I went back up the wooden, creaky stairs to get clothes and to get in the shower. When I got out I had this weird feeling of going outside and walking in the great forest that we own. It's weird because I normally stay inside all day and play video games like Minecraft or something. So I got my (type of shoes) shoes on and told my mom I was going to go into the woods for a while.
I walked near the middle of the woods because I've never really been there. Once I got there I saw an ancient looking temple. I went to check my pockets for my phone to text my mom about it when I suddenly realised that I left it in my room to charge, since I forgot to when I fell asleep. So I just walked back and let me say one thing, it felt like it was a really long stroll back. The walk would only normally take at most ten minutes, but this felt like 20 minutes.
When I opened the back door, I yelled,
"Mom, are you there?"
"Uh yeah," she exclaimed back, "What's up?"
"Well I found this weird temple thing in the woods and I wanted you to come and see it."
"OK, well let me get my shoes on then."
So we walked back to the middle of the woods and the triangular prism wasn't there. She looked at me like I was crazy.
"Mom, I swear there was something there."
"Yeah yeah, next bring your phone and take pictures of it so I know you're not going crazy, ok?"
"OK, if there is a next time."
It's been a month since I've seen the temple. I've been there every single day waiting for it, looking for it in different parts of the woods, and even calling for it. Today I had planned to do the same, but I couldn't because when my alarm clock went off I instantly heard knocking on the front door right after. My mom had left for a business trip almost a week ago. I guess I had to get up and get it. Once I unlocked the door I saw two men in slick black suits. I said hello.
"Uh hello, we are here looking for a person that goes by the name of Sebastian Adands," said one of the men in the black suits.
"That's me." I replied in a slightly frightened voice.
"Is there a parent or guardian in the house or someone that we call that is close by?"
"Um no, my mom is on a business trip, but you can call my grandma, she lives a few streets down."
So I called my grandma and told her to come over to the house because the men in black wanted to talk to her. It took her 2 minutes to get here, but it felt like forever with them here. When she got here I was told to stay sitting and they went outside to talk with her. It took them about 30 minutes and it also looked like she had to sign some papers. They came back in and my grandma gave me a big hug and she started crying. It felt really weird.
"I'll miss you," she said while crying and I could barely understand her saddened tone.
"Please come with us," one of the men said. So I did.
I got in their all black SUV and we drove out of the neighborhood. When we were halfway to where we were going I dozed off.
When they woke me up all I could see was a large concrete building with guards everywhere. They told me to sit still and not move until they get back. It took them five minutes and they came back and opened the back door of the SUV and told me to get out and follow them. They said this was a top secret phenomenon research base and if I was going to go back without staying here for years that I would have to sign papers pledging to their laws. I signed them because I didn't even want to go in, but guess what... I still had to.
As soon as I got in all I could see were teenagers, probably around 15 to 19 training to fight. They escorted me to some locker rooms and said to put some black clothes on and then told me to start training immediately.
"Are there dorms that I need to know about?" I asked them.
"You'll find out," they said.
After I was finished getting dressed they took me to a designated training yard. There was this one girl there, she gave me this awkward stare and I started training.
After five minutes of training, a buzzer went off and I guess it signaled a different class, and after it went off it said this, "Pvt. Adands, please report to the main office." So I looked at some signs that pointed me to the main office. I knocked on the door and someone said "It's open." I opened it and all I saw was an older man sitting behind a wooden desk.
"You can call me Cpl. Wakscion," the man said.
"Um, ok Cpl. Wakscion," I responded nervously.
"You must be wondering why you're here, aren't you?"
"Well, yeah I am."
"Well that "temple" thing you saw in the woods behind your house, that was a portal to another world."
"Wait, what?!"
"Yeah, sounds fake right? I'll show you how it's not."
I followed him to a room that has higher security than the front gate, and the front gate had at least 100 guards. Inside it were rocks that look almost like the one in my backyard. They had different elements in them, like one of them had fire burning away hotter than ever while the one next to it had ice that was colder than absolute zero.
